I sat in the music store for 3 hours trying to make sense of why this bass sounded better than any Fender in the store and exactly like any Musicman. But the fact that it was a fraction of the price was the icing on the cake. The bass is serious. BUY IT!!! Now, my only gripe is the headstock (hate it) but its signature and the small area between the front pickup and the last fret. If you slap, you will have trouble adjusting to the small space, but when you hear the brightness it can achieve, all will be forgiven.
The Laguna LB524 Bass is worth every bit of the 5 bills you'll pay for it. My church just got this recently, and it is awesome. This bass is extremely easy to play, has excellent tone, and the active pickups make it easier to mix. If you're into Metal, it's a good one to play fast on and the sustain is good for slow stuff. Rock slides are very smooth on this one, and it looks great! I love the contoured top and thin body; it's very comfortable. If this is in your price range, it should be on your "top ten" list.
I played this bass at a demo in a store and, boy, it had some power. It was easy to play, had just the right sound and the look is amazing. The only thing I would change would be its price tag.
Nothing like a shark of a bass to start your day off. Notice the top of the body (the "face") pretty huh? Yup. Now, the neck is literally skinny like a guitar neck, though not as thin as the Geddy Lee, this thing is easy to wrap your hands around. The pickups are very tight, have great tonal range, and I love em! The only thing I would really change about the bass is to make it neck-through construction, that would deff add to its already stunning apeal. Overall, nicely done.
