Comments about MTD Kingston KZ 5-String Fretless Bass:
The bass is well made. Beautiful finish, (amber satin). After a truss rod adjustment and setting the string height it played very nice. I will eventually upgrade the pickups, but for stock ones they are not bad. You can upgrade yourself for cheaper than buying the KZX and you are not limited by availability of finish! I like the wood covering on the pups though! You will want to change the strings also! Mine sounded ok. but they had imperfections in the winding that you could feel. Overall i was very happy with the bass!
