surprising and great for the LOW price

My edge 4 is fretless and came stock with emg p/ups. Very smooth to play and comfortable. Feels like a more expensive bass. Versatile tone, even w/half-wounds. Complaints: noisy pots, too much play in the tuners..small stuff!Great bass.

Great bass!

I started out playing bass on this instrument and it is incredible! I recently purchased an older Squier p bass but i do still play this one because it's actually my sister's is still in the jam room.Sounds great through any amp and the finish is amazing.Only downside is it's kinda heavy which can cause a sore shoulder after an hour or so of playing but don't let that discourage you from picking it up.

For an inexpensive bass, this is worth looking at. The neck is fast and action good. You can't go wrong for the price.

Well-built and beautiful, and for a fair price!

I am extremely impressed by this bass. It is remarkably well-built for its entry-level price, and the translucent black finish is smooth as glass! The body is light weight and well balanced, and the active electronics and two octave fretboard help to produce a wide range of tones. I've been playing bass for over 25 years, and I've owned some nice ones. I highly recommend the Dean Edge 4 - novice or professional, you owe it to yourself to at LEAST give one a test-drive!

Best bass I've owned!

I had this bass for many years. I loved it! Playability was excellent. I have short fat fingers and the small neck was perfect. Not to mention that the bass was easy to fret through the entire range. Sound was excellent! I wish I didn't sell it...but I'm haven't played in years so she had to go...I miss her.

I own the fret less version of this bass and it is absolutely amazing. The bass has great tone quality and is very comfortable to play. The bass is a bit smaller then most electric basses which has both positive and negative effects depending on preference especially with a fret less. The pick ups are pretty good quality especially for the price. I also personally like the battery powered pick ups.

Everywhere I take this bass heads turn, and when people get a chance to play it their jaw drops! Not a bad combination for the price.

Dean Edge 4/4 Bass

Most excellent bass for the price. I'm still using the original strings on this puppy. Buy the Dean hard case if you get one, it's longggg. Sounds as good as any other bass I've been around, but I've tricked it out with Ampeg and goodies. From my score, you know I like it.

All-Around Great Bass

I own a Dean Edge 1 4-string, and I am considering moving up to the Edge 4 Fretless. i have played the fretless many times in the store, and it is the best deal you'll find for a fretless, not to mention awesome quality. I can also recommend the fretted version. Dean rocks!

my Black Dean Edge 4

By VoodooChil'

The edge 4's sleek body design fits perfect against your body. I like the thin neck, very slick and comfortable to shift around. Pickups are very high quality, they give a great smooth bass sound when the tone knobs are on full blast, and a superb twanging funk style when one is off. I like the master control knob on the back, if you turn it so it is barely on, it gives a nice acoustic sound. Very primo bass, this thing schools the expensive stuff, and is well worth the money.
