Rogue

Deep, powerful bass with modern electronics.

The 5-string Rogue LX405 Series III Electric Bass is fashioned with a quilted maple top on a basswood body with a matching veneer on the headstock. The neck is Canadian hard maple deeply set in the body with 6 bolts for sustain approaching that of a neck-thru bass.

For stability the neck is fitted with a 2-way truss rod. The bass guitar's fretboard is highest-grade Indian rosewood. Genuine blue abalone position markers and a graphite nut grace the fingerboard. Satin chrome die-cast tuners and bridge are eye-catching details.

The bass guitar's strings can be anchored through body or bridge to suit your preference. The Rogue 5-string is armed with an MM-style humbucker at the bridge and a single-coil up front with active EQ. Controls include volume, blend, bass boost/cut, and treble boost/cut. You can bypass the active electronics with the pull-out volume knob in case your battery dies. The Rogue LX405 Series III is a wonderfully light and well-balanced 5-string bass, and its low price makes it a must-have for every bassist.

  • Basswood body with quilted maple top and matching veneer on headstock

Features:

Very appealing to look at. Everything on this bass ties together to make a beautiful piece of art that you want to instantly pick up and jam out on. One of my personal favorite features is the headstock, being powerful yet majestic. All in all its a beautiful bass guitar.

Quality:

Definatly perfect for a professional or a beginner. Sounded sexy right of the box and i couldnt have been happier. Great for any style of music and very easy to work with.

Value:

AMAZING BASS FOR THE PRICE!!! If you have the cash to burn this is the bass i would recommend to anyone, whether they be a pro or a begginer.

Overall:

The detail in the body is amazing. I love how the neck is easy to get around as well. I would love to see this bass in more color variety. Defianatly one the best basses i could ever play.

This is my second rogue bass. I bought this a little over a year ago, and all I have to say is wow. This bass delivers. Only slight problem is there is some odd sound rattling whenever you hit a low E. May just be my bass, but I dont know. Great bass.

Amazing 5 String Bass

This is a great first 5 string, or a great back-up bass for a working pro.      If you have the money to burn, you can't go wrong with one of these, even if you don't need a new bass.      It is worth the money just to have one for yourself.      This axe puts Rogue on the map!

I own the previous version of this bass; there are some minor differences such as the bridge and color, but the essence of my instrument is the same as the Series lll basses.      The features are all useable, not 'fluff', and each of the features works!      The active electronics are very musical and not too noisy for live or recorded applications.      It lacks a mid-range control, but with the EQ that's available on most amps, you won't miss it.      The neck of this instrument is the best part; it is dead straight!      Fortunately, the truss rod is two way, so if need be, you can put a little forward bow into the neck.      If you're like me, however, the neck is perfect as-is.      I have found the low B string to be tight, so there is no 'wobble' in the lowest notes.      I don't know if this has been carried over to the new series, but mine has a carved top!      It is beautiful to just look at.

Due to a manufacturing error, my first one had the bridge mounted a little too close to the neck, so it could not be intonated properly.      MF replaced it immediately, and the new one is absolutely perfect!      If it weren't for the bridge screw-up, I would rate it at a ten.      OK, that takes into consideration how much it costs, but for the money, this rocks!

The best bass deal in the known universe!

let's see, warped neck, cracked fretboard, stripped " E" tuner, scratch on back, string rattle, sent back, was replaced with different color other than original with a chip in the face of the body and again fret rattle. Pure junk. Don't buy this product. P.s. you don't get refunded for time or trouble over what you paid. Buy a Squire.

My Second Rogue 5-String

The LX405B III is the best value on the market! My first bass is a passive LX205B. Great bass also, when you add a compressor. I play thruogh an old Ampeg V4-B and a fender 412 dual showman on stage. I just added The Ampeg Micro- sv210 head & cab to it as well. Best stage monitor tone on the planet! Line-out to the subs and it's as big as you want. I bought the 405 on clearance and it had some bad electronics in it. Musician's Friend sent me a new bass. Different color! But that was the clearance reason. The bass had an O.K. factory set-up, but with 2 more hours work it is absolutely perfect!   O.K. Rogue! What's with pushing the knob --in-- to turn on the electronics? Put the bass in the case and it gets pushed on when you shut it! C'mon, you can do better than that! The strings are very rough at first but they work and they do last! Everyone should own this bass for this price! If there is anything wrong from the factory, Musician's Friend will totally take care of you! Buy it!
