Pros: Price, 35" scale, twin beam truss rods, 24 frets, 3 band eq, string through body, Fast neck, sounds good, nicely balanced (no neck diving)Cons: The finish on the bodyOverall: Quiet in the active mode, notched pots. I found that if you dial in the eq at about 75% total, and put the vol and tone at about 80% this bass will definately push air. Big deep tones, nice. I was was surprized.Made in Korea, and that's not a big deal now that the QC is up to good standards. ISO? Dunno'The finish looks like a faux-textured sponge job, Natural would look good, or perhaps a "photo wood grain" like other companies have known to employ.Strings: 6 string, extra (super) long. D'Addario makes a set... but Musicians Friends do not carry extra-long or super long strings in 6-string sets; at least not specifically labled as such and I'm not going into the "test" mode searching for a set that might or might not fit. There is a lot of here-say on the web concerning which "long" sets might fit. I'm going to be sure my money doesn't get spent on a set of "may" fits. Muscians Friend needs to step up on this. Lot's of 5-string super/extra long sets, but few 6-string sets. Overall, I like it. It's a good starter for someone very used to 4 strings and wanting to go in the Low B mode with high C. A lot of really bonus specifications on this.Does NOT have a pick up selection or blending feature. I don't really care, I usually have both pickups on with the basses in my rack.I'll call it a good fair deal. Or perhaps a better offering than what is currently out there.

The 1st bass I received had a 1.5" chip in the back, fret buzz, and the electronics did nothing but make noise and bring in radio stations in active or passive states. The replacement I got a couple days ago did not have any cosmetic blems but did have the same electonic and buzz problems. Battery changes did nothing on both basses. The pics posted are different from what you actually get. For example: there are 5 knobs (1 master vol/switch, 1 pickup balancer, and 3 eqs), not 4 knobs and the string nut in the pic looks like black plastic not brass as it really comes. Overall, it is a really nice bass but good upgrades can cost alot and I had no luck finding 6-string active nor passive p/u's to fit the jazz style cavity of around .12/16"x5". All I can say is if you do purchase it, I hope it works for you.

The only thing I don't like about it is the knobs feel cheap and light. Everything else is A+

        Killer bass-killer price

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I just recently got this thing and I couldn't be happier. After a long search of extended range bass guitars I stumbled upon Rogue 6 and I was very impressed with it's playability and sound. Not to be fulled, this thing is HEAVY. Heavier than most of Schecters or Ibanez that I played and the balance is little off so hand on the neck when you're not playing is a must. Neck is really wide but that gives you lots of spacing between the strings if you are looking to do some slapping. I got it used from a guy who didn't like the width of the neck and in the end decided that 4 string bass was simply all the bass he ever needed. However if you are looking to get both, high and low range and compete with the keyboards range, this bass cannot be beat for the price. I mainly play it passive, i find that playing it active sounds really bright, but if you use the fuzz with it, it gives it whole new dimention and the brightness that it gets from the active pickups compliments the overdrive nicely. I only had it for few weeks but haven't been able to put it down and I'm starting to neglect my other guitars and bass guitars. It really is that impressive

        Good Bass!!!!

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I was searching to purchase/own a six stringed bass. For years I have been playing only on four strings with an Ibanez TR-Bass, and 7 years with a six string Yamaha TRB bass. I was fascinated by the appearance of this bass. Especially the price of it!!!! Moreover, what I liked the most is the sound when playing funk with it. You also have the option to have the EQ active or just play in passive mode.I am very happy with this instrument. Also, plug it in to a good amp which will help you appreciate its sound.

A good bass for the price.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I've been playing basses for quite a while. After playing a bass worth the 4 digit scale, I wanted to look around for an inexpesive bass to own!I am glad I found this bass. When delivered to my door I was surprised of the quality it has and its appearance. It is simply great!!! The only "no-no" is the pickup selector knob that if set to an individual pickup you hear very little effect noise, like if a wire is connected to an amp without the instrument pluged. But that's not the problem in my case because when selecting both pickups there's no noise heard, and I always like to have all pickups selected when playing. Moreover, the low, the mid, and high knobs are effective when selected in the active mode which is a good feature of this bass, from the volume knob.Bottom line, I would surely recommend this bass as an alternative to buying a four-digit-price-ranged bass.

I've played bass for three years and every years since I started I've moved up in string number on my basses. I got this bass because it was cheap and it was in my budget. I love how it looks the pictures don't do it justice enough. It's much darker in color. The neck is smooth and fast to play on. I have no trouble reaching notes on the neck at all. The pickups are good and along with the EQ controls I can get the deep low tone i've wanted from my bass. I love this bass

Bought this bass and very satisfied with it. I have several bass guitars and several baritones. I also have a fender Strat. I expected less at this price but was impressed with the quality of this instrument. The neck is super. Did not require any adjustments..played from the box with a tuning. The finish is not gloss but a stein. Very nice bass.

I have been playing this bass for about 4 years. When I ordered it, I wasn't expecting this much bang for the buck. Very good bass for very little money. The only reason I didn't 5/5 is for only single-coil pickups. Amazing bass, overall.
