I just recently got this thing and I couldn't be happier. After a long search of extended range bass guitars I stumbled upon Rogue 6 and I was very impressed with it's playability and sound. Not to be fulled, this thing is HEAVY. Heavier than most of Schecters or Ibanez that I played and the balance is little off so hand on the neck when you're not playing is a must. Neck is really wide but that gives you lots of spacing between the strings if you are looking to do some slapping. I got it used from a guy who didn't like the width of the neck and in the end decided that 4 string bass was simply all the bass he ever needed. However if you are looking to get both, high and low range and compete with the keyboards range, this bass cannot be beat for the price. I mainly play it passive, i find that playing it active sounds really bright, but if you use the fuzz with it, it gives it whole new dimention and the brightness that it gets from the active pickups compliments the overdrive nicely. I only had it for few weeks but haven't been able to put it down and I'm starting to neglect my other guitars and bass guitars. It really is that impressive

The 1st bass I received had a 1.5" chip in the back, fret buzz, and the electronics did nothing but make noise and bring in radio stations in active or passive states. The replacement I got a couple days ago did not have any cosmetic blems but did have the same electonic and buzz problems. Battery changes did nothing on both basses. The pics posted are different from what you actually get. For example: there are 5 knobs (1 master vol/switch, 1 pickup balancer, and 3 eqs), not 4 knobs and the string nut in the pic looks like black plastic not brass as it really comes. Overall, it is a really nice bass but good upgrades can cost alot and I had no luck finding 6-string active nor passive p/u's to fit the jazz style cavity of around .12/16"x5". All I can say is if you do purchase it, I hope it works for you.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I've been playing basses for quite a while. After playing a bass worth the 4 digit scale, I wanted to look around for an inexpesive bass to own!I am glad I found this bass. When delivered to my door I was surprised of the quality it has and its appearance. It is simply great!!! The only "no-no" is the pickup selector knob that if set to an individual pickup you hear very little effect noise, like if a wire is connected to an amp without the instrument pluged. But that's not the problem in my case because when selecting both pickups there's no noise heard, and I always like to have all pickups selected when playing. Moreover, the low, the mid, and high knobs are effective when selected in the active mode which is a good feature of this bass, from the volume knob.Bottom line, I would surely recommend this bass as an alternative to buying a four-digit-price-ranged bass.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I have been playing this bass for about 4 years. When I ordered it, I wasn't expecting this much bang for the buck. Very good bass for very little money. The only reason I didn't 5/5 is for only single-coil pickups. Amazing bass, overall.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I was searching to purchase/own a six stringed bass. For years I have been playing only on four strings with an Ibanez TR-Bass, and 7 years with a six string Yamaha TRB bass. I was fascinated by the appearance of this bass. Especially the price of it!!!! Moreover, what I liked the most is the sound when playing funk with it. You also have the option to have the EQ active or just play in passive mode.I am very happy with this instrument. Also, plug it in to a good amp which will help you appreciate its sound.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

Bought this bass and very satisfied with it. I have several bass guitars and several baritones. I also have a fender Strat. I expected less at this price but was impressed with the quality of this instrument. The neck is super. Did not require any adjustments..played from the box with a tuning. The finish is not gloss but a stein. Very nice bass.

Great 6-string Bass for the price!!!!

By Rafa-G41XP

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

This bass was a replacement to a 5-string, OLP MM3 that simply didn't cut it in a 10-piece live band. I'm a gigging musician on a budget, and could only find this 6-string within my price range. I was amazed at the sound of this bass! The active mode is very loud and can crank beefy bass. The passive, not so much, but it's a life saver if you run out of battery in the middle of a show (it did happen to me once). The initial setup wasn't so great, but I tweaked the action and slapped new strings on it, and if I lost it I would buy another just like it. Even though I don't use the High C too much, I don't even think of buying a 5-string anytime soon!

A great starter for dipping your toes into the six-string style. A bit heavy, but that can be overlooked at this price. Active pickups for wide tonal possibilities, too.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I bought this thing for a stay in the bedroom practice instrument but after a slight neck adjustment (the truss rods where a tad overtightened) and the normal bridge adjustment I'm taking to the bar this weekend. The action wound up matching my cirrus pretty much so I was shocked. It's got nice bright piano tone to it, which I like, and the active/passive electronics is a nice option. For the bucks it's great little bass.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I fist bought this bass back when I was the bass player for my high school stage band. I figured I needed something to be heard above the 40 something horns we had. I also wanted a ridiculous range since everyone in the rhythm section were individually responsible for playing improved solos. This bass absolutely killed it. I could remain in the background during the course of a regular song and when it came to doing a solo improve I could use the active electronics to articulate every note at lead levels. Its constructed like a battleship. The maple neck has a beautiful feel to it. My only recommendation is that if you want to use this bass as your main, you might want to invest in better pickups. But even with the stock pickups, it still sounds outstanding.

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I've played countless bass guitars, but I admit, the rogue LX406PB is one guitar I will play over & over! Versatility is key when you strap on this bad boy! The sub-low to mid high tones are exactly what I look for in a six string bass. Rogue, keep up the great work on this masterpiece!!!

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I bought this bass, Played it non stop for a few days and was disappointed. The pick ups were bad and when I went to adjust the action with the hex key it striped. I had to return it. Hats off though to this site, they took it back with no problem. I guess for the money its ok for a first 6 string for some people. Beware

Getting That Burning Again...

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

..I am a former bass player that gave it up in the ealy 90's to focus more on my custom graphics and airbrush interests...I decided to customize guitars in lue of playing them. When I was at the height of playing I was spending alot of my time playing my fav bass and time jamming on a 5-string. For about the last year I have had a burning desire to start playing again. When I stopped playing, I was playing bass, keyboards and guitar. I came across this website and was blown away by the good deals and high quality merchandise. I came across the Rogue LX406 Pro 6-string bass and was very interested in getting it. When the bass arrived I couldnt beleive the high quality for the cost.....the neck had great action and the body had a very nice balance to it. Now mind you I havent really done any seriouse jamming in over 10 yrs and now I kick my self for wasting all those yrs when I could have been shredding....Great Bass for the cost. I just have to re-teach my fingers..LOl

Comments about Rogue LX406 Pro 6-String Bass:

I just got this bass last week, and let me tell you there is nothing to complain about. The active/passive switch adds the extra sound needed to hit the high and low notes, and going through my Digitech BP200, it sounds even better. A must have for any bassist in needs of a low budget 6 string.
