I have been playing bass for many years and although I switched to guitar for a short stint I am a bass player. I first heard the Schecter name as a custom guitar brand used by Mark Knopfler. The Deluxe is Schecter's entry level bass guitar and packs a lot of features for the price.Pros:Active Humbucker pickups - No Hum and good warm tones with a slightly nasally sound which I like.24 Frets with good easy access. 34" scale neck on a 24 fret means that it is still only as long as a Fender P Bass so it's not too long.Good Quality Machine Heads.Good Quality Parts.ConsBasswood Body is VERY soft Don't Knock it as it dents easy.Lacquer Finish was a little rough in places. If you purchase one from a shop have a good look as there can be factory errors.Slightly weak neck - If you swing on the neck even slightly it is very easy to make the frets buzz.Unusual Pot Configuration - Volume is second pot in.Watch the Bass EQ can distort!

I bought this bass to have one around the studio. The first one of this range that I bought the electronics burned up, was told that was the 5th one that day they had returned. On a high note Shecter did talk to me about it and were curtious and helpful. No manual and good luck on finding one. These things are pretty much entry level junk. American design asian made, quality control seems to be non existant. Everyone I know who buys a schecter product soon retires it and buys a name brand guitar. Save yourself the headache and bypass the first part. get a name brand guitar and forget about how "pretty" they look. You get what you pay for.

The Deluxe 4 stiletto diamond series bass is amazing and well worth twice the price, The tone is really great, crispy, sharp and the 6 bolt neck really helps the sustain, I own 4 other schector bass's and this is quickly becoming one of my favorites, Its almost the same as the custom 4, but differnt pic-ups and bridge on the deluxe, the action is really smooth and low, and the neck plays like all other shectors, thin and fast. Try this bass out and you'll see, and hear why I can't say enough good things about it, Don't waste your money on a MIM P or J, this baby has the tone and action, and its twice as fast and smooth and tone worthy as bass's twice the price or more.
I got it pretty cheap and could not believe it cause it sounded so good. Weight and balance are good, electronics are good and it plays like a bass twice its price!
I bought this bass 2 weeks ago. Iv been playing it almost everyday since then. Well the other day i was jamming out with my band and it just stoped working. I checked the batteries, Which had gone out earlier that week. I even checked out all the electronics. I cant seem to find the problem. Factory error maybe? Note to anyone, dont buy this bass
I've used this bass for live jobs and I'm quite pleased. Light weight body makes 3 long sets easy. Good tones and lots of low end. No flop. Strings nice and tight. Not too great for slap/pop but great for everything else.
A great bass for hard rockers. I can't beleive the price is so low. Great bass for serious players who just don't have a lot of cash flow.
The first time I played this bass, I was amazed! The tone you can get out of it is incredible and its even better for the price. I've found that I even like it better than some other basses which I have played that were more expensive. I would recommend this bass to any begginers who are looking for a better great quality bass at a price anyone can afford.
I bought this guitar because I was looking for a good sounding, inexpensive bass. I thought I found it in this Schecter. The guitar looks great, it feels great, and sounds great, except for one thing... the front pick up didn't work. Or perhaps it was the pot, I don't know and I don't care. I brought it back. Too bad. the guitar really looked good and it sounded good for only one pick up. Too bad the store only had one of them.
I jazz, I slap, I pick, I finger, I mosh, I two-step, I've even played it with my tongue and it sounded good. The EQ and the humbuckers are what makes the bass extremely versitile. It'll play any genre, live or in studio, especially with a good set of strings (i use earnie ball super slinks, good for slap) Plenty of space between the strings and body for slap, but don't count it out for jazz. Turn up the bass a little and maybe add a heavy set of strings and you've got an excellent rock, metal, or hardcore bass. I'm in a jazz band, a metal band, and an ambient band and this thing has not let me down. I don't care how many other basses I buy and sell, i'm keeping this one.
Great bass, very responsive. Wide range of tonality. Very comfortable and easy to play. I've only owned for a few weeks but with the active EQ, you can get some really great tones from this bass. It's a little stiff while tapping, but with some due time it should loosen up a bit. Great deal for someone who wants a quality bass on a budget. I've owned many Schecters in my day and have never been disappointed once.
Great bass, suitable for any genre of music. Many tones. Built tough.
