I read a lot of reviews on this product before deciding to buy. I own several Squier basses and had great success with them. I normally hot rod them, customize them and just see how far I can take them; they never let me down. I thought I'd go ahead and get this one because of the PJ set up and when I took it out of the box I was immediately struck with how solid this bass felt. So far all I've done to it is add strap-locks and a Hipshot Extender. As it is; this baby is going right into my starting rotation. I saw one review where someone said "I'd play it out, but I'm not a professional bassist", well sir, I am a professional - and I'm playing it out!

Bought this bass to perform in front of people. After many practices we discovered a horrible buzz coming from the bridge jazz pickup. The Bass is currently in the shop with a Fender Technician. We got this bass for its looks and the price. The electronics are not good. The body and neck feel decent but are not anything special. For a beginner or someone practicing bass alone this bass is amazing its looks and sounds are pretty good for the price. But for professional use I would steer clear as the back jazz pickup has a horrible buzz and unless you have your own guitar tech like myself I would seriously advise buying the more expensive "Vintage Modified" Version of this P/J Bass.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I was looking to add a Fender bass to my collection and considered the Active Deluxe P. But I already have an active Ibanez bass. So I decided to go my usual route and purchase a cheaper guitar to upgrade (the quality of this guitar is not cheap!). Out of the box I setup the bass, which took about an hour to get relief, height, and intonation set. I've read reviews that complain about the pickups, but they weren't that bad plugged into my preamp - boosted 40Hz & 4kHz and slight cut in 400Hz. Sounds pretty good and clearer than my active bass. However, the bridge will need to be replaced and is a cheap and easy job. I'm also adding Seymour Duncan PJ Quarter Pounds and Emerson Custom electronics (pots & .047 capacitor). This should be a killer bass when done given play-ability.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

This bass is without a doubt one of the best of its kind no matter the name or price. It's built tight and solid, has decent tone, resonant, good electronics, good tuners that hold tune, just throw some vintage wired pickups in it with alnico V magnets,an orange cap and the overall sound will be excellent. There isn't a better value on the market! The neck is fast and comfortable..no baseball bat here! Good fret job, beautiful rosewood, body is nothing short of perfect, neck pocket, fit & finish.Good bridge, love the metal knobs, would recommend a Switchcraft Jack for long use down the road. All in all this bass is an Aerodyne without the label. Couldn't get much better! Buy One if you are even thinking about it, you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

Been playing a few years and have more expensive, nicer basses. Bought this as a backup/beater and am knocked out by the quality, easily matches the CV Squier series. Pickups sound great, could use some shielding but the hum is really not too bad and goes away with 1/3 turn of the tone knob. Nice smooth pots on the electronics with good range of volume and tone. Put some threaded saddles on to get proper alignment of the strings thru the pole pieces. Could use some new tuners down the line but these hold tune well, not the smoothest turning though. The body finish on mine (white) is flawless, nice tight neck pocket. The neck is very nice, no skunk stripe, pretty rosewood fingerboard which I oiled with some bore oil since it looked kinda dry, (nice touch on the pearl dot markers too!). I can get a really low action, like 3/32 on the low E with no buzz. The frets are good, they don't stick out at all, maybe a little sharp on some but nothing uncomfortable. All in all, this thing is a no brainer for a backup or just a darn good bass to be had for little scratch, pull the trigger!

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I purchased the black finish. I am definitely shocked. Affinity has done it with this one. I mean this with all sincerity, this bass is a STEAL. The neck/body is definitely a P-Bass, the head stock also says its P-Bass. You get the addition of the J-bass bridge pick up which gives added flexibility tone-wise. When both picks ups are turned up it has this great punchy sound. Tone is outstanding. Each pick up alone sounds great too. The Bass arrived well packed. The only thing I needed to do was tighten the Tone knob a bit with the Allen wrench (which is provided in the box). I like this bass better than my Fender MIM Jazz 5-string. The build quality/fret work is actually very good and the finish is very nice. I checked all frets / strings, zero fret buzz. Action is nice and low out of the box. I am really happy with this bass, and I would buy another one in a second. Get them while you can. If you don't, I will ;)

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I just can't believe that any company can offer a bass with these features at this price point! The strength of this instrument is the materials used and its tonal versatility. I was looking for a budget precision bass when I stumbled upon this one. You can solo the neck pickup as much as you want but when the song comes up the requires a contemporary bass tone you've got the bridge pickup to bring to bear. Honestly this bass seems too good to be true but it's no joke.
