I read a lot of reviews on this product before deciding to buy. I own several Squier basses and had great success with them. I normally hot rod them, customize them and just see how far I can take them; they never let me down. I thought I'd go ahead and get this one because of the PJ set up and when I took it out of the box I was immediately struck with how solid this bass felt. So far all I've done to it is add strap-locks and a Hipshot Extender. As it is; this baby is going right into my starting rotation. I saw one review where someone said "I'd play it out, but I'm not a professional bassist", well sir, I am a professional - and I'm playing it out!

Bought this bass to perform in front of people. After many practices we discovered a horrible buzz coming from the bridge jazz pickup. The Bass is currently in the shop with a Fender Technician. We got this bass for its looks and the price. The electronics are not good. The body and neck feel decent but are not anything special. For a beginner or someone practicing bass alone this bass is amazing its looks and sounds are pretty good for the price. But for professional use I would steer clear as the back jazz pickup has a horrible buzz and unless you have your own guitar tech like myself I would seriously advise buying the more expensive "Vintage Modified" Version of this P/J Bass.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I owned a Fender P bass 20+ years ago with a jazz neck, which I had custom built. I can say firsthand that this bass is every bit the quality of the Fender, if not better. While this particular bass has a Precision neck, I love the pickup configuration here with split Precision single coil and Jazz single coil. This bass give you the best of both Fender worlds, Jazz punch and warm Precision sound. Yes, you'll get the typical 60 cycle pickup hum from the Jazz pickup, but I have no problems with this since I run my setup with pedals, particularly a Behringer noise reduction pedal and the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Bass Pi Distortion Effects Pedal. Dial up noise suppression on the Behringer, and engage both Crossover and Bypass and set the noise gate on the Electro-Harmonix Pi; noise problem solved. Total silence. Bass plays great and quality made. Great guitar, good pickups. No need to pay hundreds of $$s more simply for the "Fender" logo on the headstock. This is essentially a Fender bass at a great price. Highly recommended for players at any level.

    Last bass I'll need

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

The power in this bad boy is, as they say on Facebook, "jaw dropping." I've played and owned a lot of basses over the past 52 years. and this might just be the best yet. Certainly the last bass I'll need - this year. I'm retired and have a guitar buying sickness - I mean "hobby".

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

I play guitar and use a fretless Jazz bass. Wanted to try a fretted without spending too much. Bought this p-bass and the Jaguar bass (which has the active tone controls). Same pickup configuration but this p-bass just sounded better with more sustain and just more solid. The Jaguar is also great, I just prefer this p-bass. The rosewood fingerboard is twice the thickness, maybe that affects the tone? Super impressed! I would definitely recommend this above any other starter bass. (I've tried others) Price to quality ratio is amazing! Got this as a "blemished" condition sale. Again, I am very happy with this bass!

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

Bought this bass as a contrast to my Ibanez with active EQ. I was nervous about buying a Squier but knew I would upgrade the bass. No need to worry because this bass is great. Plays well and the pickups are a bit muddy but by no means horrible.
I upgrade the electronics to Emerson Custom pots and capacior, Fender Vintage Bridge, and Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds. Now this is a great bass! Warm tone with some aggressive sounds if needed.
My Only gripe would be that I had to route the control cavity to fit the emerson pots. It was routed for the cheap small pots. Just an inconvenience.

I got this bass as an open box, around 70% off, so I really can't complain too much. I like it. Plays, feels, looks, sounds nice. Sounds even better with a decent set of new strings. Only problem with mine is, it has terrible buzz/hum from both pickups and the electronics. I bought this bass as kind of a project, so it will probably get a new set of quality pickups anyway. I would've given it 4 stars if not for the buzz.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ, Rosewood Fingerboard:

Great bass, great wood and I like the p pick up despite the bad reviews, a lil buzz coming from the A string nut hole but overall decent setup, not really an issue when plugged in, the frets are slightly sharp but within a normal range. The neck feels great, like any intermediate bass, the body is alder and the red and black finish is beautiful. Great for practicing, jamming, learning or mods. I dislike Squier lower end guitars but this bass has surprised me positively.

I bought this bass with the intentions of taking an inexpensive guitars and upgrading components. I'm not changing anything but the strings. Incredible value!

WOW! This Bass is more than I expected for the price. Feels and sounds as good as the "Big Dogs" at the upper level. Great looks, neck action is right on, and the sound is phenomenal. I would recommend that you swap out the stings right off the bat. Put some med flat wound back on, tune her up and off you go! Great deal!
