The three deciding factors for me adding this bass to my collection were the longer fret board (35" scale), the aggressive look of the bridge and affordability. I ended up having practice the same night I received this bass, so it was straight to the test bed. I run thought a GK 410 cab with a GK head, a Digitech BP8 effects processor miced with a Shure SM-58 to the board. The first thing I noticed was how hot the SM Combo pickups are! WOW. I run other active basses, but these pick-ups are Hot! I was able to come down almost a quarter turn on my head?s master. I love the active soap bar active Traben T3 electronics and SM combo pickups on this bass! Next thing that got my attention was the weight. The smaller body helps keep it down, but it still maintains a good over balance. After I played it, I found that the action was set a little low from the factory and that the GHS strings were not right for this bass. I like the cutaways that allow easy access to the higher frets. I don?t know if it?s the larger bridge or the pickups, but this thing can ring forever. Nice. I did end up restringing with some super slinkys, but hey, that could just be me. Others may like the strings that come with it. Overall, a good value for the bass you get.

I really dont like it. not worth the money. I really cant get a decent slap tone out of it. I guess with the tone knob rolled down, it sounds okay for rock, but nothing special. The highs on this bass in my opinion are really muddy and flat. its weird. I recomend getting a gsr200 by ibanez... doesent look as cool, but sounds waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy better. Much more versatile than this dime a dozen bass.

Best Bass for the price Possible!!

By Trabenfan001

from Manahawkin, New Jersey

When I bought this bass I knew I was getting a good deal. It's incredible to play- it has a great feel and an awesome tone. Traben's Bigger Bridge=Better Tone is completly true. It sounds great with anything I throw at it. If you want an awesmoe bass for the money buy this one. I play it with my church's praise band and it syncs in with everything like a glove!

I got this bass for Christmas and i can't hardly put it down. It has an amazing tone and it has a very good feel to it. I didn't have to adjust the action or anything. I would recommend this bass for a beginner or an advanced player. This is a great bass for the price

Better than any bass at this price point

I also own a Traben Chaos 5. I bought the 4-string because I liked the 5 string so much (even though I didn't really need to add to my collection). Sound scuplturing is so very easy. It can sound pretty much like any bass. I own at least 10 other basses and they all have their own sound. The price is excellent....do not waste your money on a Squire or some other low end bass. The quality is remarkable for the price. These are made in Korea, and Traben has good quality control. Buy one, you wont be disappointed.

The Best Bass

By Novemberm00n24

from St. George, UT

I actually have had the 5 string version of this bass for 3 years now ... I previously had a SG500 by Ibenez, and this bass is 10 times better (and I payed less for it). The tone is amazing, especialy when you first get it the sound is so crisp, I still have the factory strings on it and it still sounds great ... The only thing I had to do was tweak the action to get the right feel, but I guess you have to do that with any bass to what you want. This is a great bass, again I have the 5 string Array Premium, but it's basically the same bass with an extra string and the Premium part is just in the looks, not the physical make of it ... I'm only getting Traben basses from now on. By far the best bass I've ever played. If you're going to get a bass, get a Traben.

TRABEN ARRAY- god like

By BLUEBASSIST

from Canada

First off, Traben is one of the best values out there, and this review can apply to ALL Tranen products, not just the base Array model. I have a few basses and my personal favorite is an older Traben Kore- the discontinued neck-thru version of a Pheonix. I played tons of Trabens in a shop and they all were equal in terms of Quality Control and all were GREAT.This model, however is the best deal ever. They cost less than a crappy Squier (I have owned some Squiers, so I do know their quality) and Traben is far better in terms of overall quality- sound, feel, electronics, fit and finish, etc.So if you see a Traben try it out. They are flashy, which may be good or bad considering what youre into looks-wise and their gimmicky huge bridge does contribute to the awesome tone and intimidates little children.Try one.I did and now I'm looking for another Traben to go with mine.
