The Bootsy Collins signature Traben.
Bootsy Collins, the funkiest human alive, and Traben worked together to create the Bootzilla 4-String Bass which takes the Traben Bigger Bridge sound into the funk world. It features a massive shooting star themed Bigger Bridge and shooting star inlays on the fretboard to give it an appropriately bootsified look. The Bigger Bridge sound is made even bigger by an 18-volt active electronics system with enhanced EQ capabilities for greater bass boost and treble roll off and Bootsy's selection of 2 Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickups.

I couldn't be happier. The EQ is great, I don't think I could stand a bass without EQ seeing as my more recent basses are all active with onboard EQ. It saves the hassle of going to adjust your amp. The finish looks about a thousand times better in real life seeing as it isn't entirely black. It's black with some dark red and gray sparkles thrown in there. It's very subtle. In the correct light, it looks amazing. It has incredible sustain, which just may be due to the Bigger Bridge it has (Which looks amazing). The inlay also looks about a thousand times better in person. It's beautiful abalone. The star design on the headstock also looks wonderful. It sparkles and changes color. It's amazing. It uses two j-style pickups. They act like j-style pickups. There's the noise if you're facing your amp, but that's standard with them. They sound amazing when everything is dialed in correctly.Aside from the 3-band EQ, there's a single volume control and a pickup fader. All the way down uses only your bridge pickup. Middle uses both. All the way up uses your neck pickup. With both pickups used and the EQ flat, it delivers a great funk tone. Switch to the bridge pickup and it's crisp. Turn the treble and/or middle knob up and you're ready for hitting any harmonic and a bass solo piece. If the standard flat-EQ, both pickups isn't enough, just switch to the neck and boost the bass and you have a fat, rich sound. The tonal possibilities are endless.
I just bought this bass today and I have to say it is the best I have ever played. Period. As if the amazing looks weren't enough to win me over, This bass's tone is just perfect and it has excellent sustain thanks to the Traben Bigger Bridge. The onboard EQ is great so that I don't have to keep tinkering with my amp's and can add that extra push with ease. As I said I just bought this bass today and I played it for over three hours straight when I got home. This bass is perfect for all music styles and sounds great whether you're oding slap bass, picking, using your fingers, and it also sounds unbelievable if you use two-hand tapping. I would recommend this bass to any bass player regardless of skill level and would change a thing about it.
I got this bass because I wanted to try something new, plus it was on clearence for less than half price. It was pretty much what I expected. The tone is good on the low notes, but forget about cutting through the mix with a solo because it's so low no one can hear it. If you crank the mids on the eq you can hear it, but the low end will sound like garbage. I'm going to put some EMGs in it... I'm just kind of partial to EMG sound. The looks are great! The shooting star inlay is so cool. Everyone complements it. The picture does not give this bass justice. It has really nice red metallic flakes all in the finish. It was worth what I paid for it. The shooting star bridge is really nice as well. Everyone has to come up and get a real good look at it. I still need to get this bass set up, but I'm pretty sure it will be perfect. Neck is real smooth and plays like butter. Tuners are of good quality.
The preamps tone gives unimaginable sound to this bass. Meant for funk yet metal can be played on it with flying colors. I love the Bootzilla!
