    Great woods and innovative electronics.

The Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck is a 5-String bass guitar that is similar to the other Corvette models, but distinguishes itself with unique electronics. It features 2 powerful MEC humbuckers nestled closely in the center position, completely covering the legendary sweet spot that so many basses miss completely. This configuration gives it a powerful, solid tone with depth and clarity. 2 mini 3-way switches let you choose humbucker, single-coil, and parallel or series operation. The passive pickups are matched to an MEC 2-band active preamp, making it a true passive/active hybrid. The Corvette $$ Double Buck features a select swamp ash body, an ovangkol neck, bell brass frets, high-quality hardware, and natural or transparent color oil finishes.

    Features

    • Select swamp ash body

This is the third bass i ever bought, I have a low end Ibanez and a Jackson concert bass... But with this one I cant even look at the other two. Definately a must have. I highly recommend it. I live in El Salvador and got mine from Miami, the climate changes are horrible conditions for any wooden instrument, but the woods in this bass haven't even noticed. I hardly ever need to tune it, its sturdy and beautiful. Warwick electronics dont dissapoint, response and tone versatility are my favorite features.
I have the four string version but have played this one too. The deep notes are heart warming, and the highs are sharp never oversaturated. The tone possibilities with the humbucker switches are endless. Definately a versatile intrument on any genre. Makes it easy to feel comfortable with the outside truss adjustment. I like a very low action and getting it just right was a breeze.
Its very light weight, and the neck is comfortable and easy to get used to. I have issues getting to know the instruments I play, but with this bass I felt right at home. The tone is very warm, you can get a range of incredible sounds from it. Battery life for me is approximately six months, i usually play it passive, but active boost and tone is awesome. The look and feel of this bass is everything a bassist needs.
Definately worth every penny. Electronics and woods are top quality.

Ok I played this bass running through a gk700rb II which is a very bright sounding amp. I could get no High end of of this bass whether or not it was the strings of the double MM style pickup config. I do like the thought of the dual MM style I think one needs to be placed closer to the bridge to get some definition from all the meat and chunkiness that this bass gives you. Also, about the pickup layout. It is very weird to slap on, the neck left a bit to be desired but for the price your paying you could get a bass custom made. Not a good value for the price. If warwick had put a little more thought into this design I think it would have been very good.......but they didn't.

    Best Bass

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

Ive been playing guitar for about 14 years without paying much attention to bass. I played one of these used in a store about 2 years ago thru an 8x10 Ampeg and it changed everything. It made me want to focus more on bass due to the awesome power. I finally picked up one of these used in black a month ago, and the quality, tone, and features are unmatched. Sounds great playing simple ACDC or crushing some Mudvayne. Corvette is a cool name, but they shoulda named this $$ version the Monster Truck, because thats just what it is thru the right amp

    Perfect Sound Many Options

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass a year ago, and I am still in love with it's sound and style. With all the different pickup options you get a great variety of sounds, from thick rock bass all the way to Crystal clear Pingy bass. It took some getting used too since my other bass is a fender jazz. This thing is worth every penny. The clarity of it is heavenly. It sounds even better since I put some DR Fat beams on it.

    Dream Bass

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

I have had my eyes on Warwick basses ever since I was a teenager. I'd always make a bee-line for whatever Thumb bass the store had. Did that for 20 years. Until I tried the $$. I was instantly convinced this was the one to have and found the 6-string for a great price. It came from the east coast U.S. (I live in Western Canada) and it arrived perfect. I mean Perfect. The action, the finish, everything. I've had it for a year and a half and it's still Perfect. I've never had to tweak anything.I've been playing bass for 25 years and I play everything from blues to rock to jazz. This bass has a sound for everything. And even more importantly, the soundmen Always tell me how clear this thing sounds. There hasn't been a soundman that didn't compliment the tone. That's gotta count for something. For a six-string, the weight is very reasonable. It is comfortable against the body and balances really nicely. The big magnets of the pick-ups catch the strings when I slap (I'm not highly skilled as a slapper) so I've had to cover them with duct tape. The shape of the pick-up creates a nice spot for the thumb, if a bit restrictive as to placement. The top horn of the bass makes it super easy to grab on to. The grain of the wood is gorgeous. All in all, this is a beautiful bass to play, hold, and hear. I definitely recommend it.

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

I got my $$ about 3 weeks ago, and so far I cannot find anything bad about it. I can basically get any kind of sound out of it that I want. And as far as playability, to me it's top notch. I hammer, slap, pluck, thump, and tap, and it accommodates each style graciously I've been playing bass for 35 years, and this is one of the baddest axes I have ever owned !

    Warwick

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

This bass completly blew me away when I purchased it. What people complain about this bass is just about not being able to set it up well. That is completly their fault and its not the bass. The other problem that people seem to forget is that you can get so many different sounds like really good crystal high sounds and deep growling lows(because of the swamp ash woods). The last thing is that people complainabout the price but you really get every bang for your buck. It is made so well and has such great electronics and wood there is no way it is at all over priced. It has the best sound for a bass under $2500 and feels absolutly superb. I've been playing bass for a whilenow(about 20 years)and it is better than any music man i've played or owned and destroys all fenders. The only others basses that I know of that beat this one are other warwicks that cost just about $4000 which i own. They are pretty much the same but the warwick thumb does have some better features. Everything about itfrom the feel of the neck to the electronics and the quality are all an A+ in my book. If you want a bass just do yourself a favor and buy this one, you wont regret it.

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

I have owned many Warwicks over the years (mostly early 90's models). I bought this one to compliment my usual Stingray 5's. Totally disappointed...could not get this bass set up well at all...sound is iffy as well, the tones just are not there. Sold it after 4 weeks.

    Good sound, good bass

    By Dave-Bass

    from Fort Myers, FL

Comments about Warwick Corvette $ Double Buck 5-String Bass Guitar:

I got mine on December 2005 and it's a natural finish. Man! Best sound I've ever had. Why? I usually used a Washburn RB2602 (6 string one, with Musicman looking Washburn pickups) and ever since I bought my $$ I didn't stop using it. It goes with me on every live performance with my BBE rack preamp and Korg rack tunner using Elixir strings always... Man! That low end on live performances is the best I have heard. If you're thinking on buying a new bass with good features, this is the one... not too expensive, not too cheap. By the way, I paid $1000 for mine! so, I don't regret, this is MY BASS.
