Sonus TJ-5 5-String Bass

The Sonus TJ-5 was made as a one-of-a-kind bass for exhibit at the 2007 NAMM show. This gorgeous 5-string electric bass guitar features an African mahogany body core with a flame maple top. The composite neck is fitted with a 26-fret phenowood fingerboard that extends to the front pickup. This unfretted extension of the fingerboard serves as a ramp, while the extended cutaway is hand-carved to facilitate comfortable access to the notes on the upper registers of the fingerboard. The front pickup is moved from its traditional position, closer to the bridge pickup to enhance the focus and punch of the tone. The TJ-5 is equipped with two custom wound, narrow aperture, dual coil Bartolini pickups and a three band Polyfusion active circuit. The voice of the Sonus TJ has solid lows, excellent mid punch and a clear, round treble response for good detail and clarity. This bass records beautifully and will hold its own in any sonic mix.
