Only if you're a fan

Comments about Alfred The Drum Techniques of Rush Songbook:

I thought that this book was very helpful if you like the Moving Pictures or Grace Under Pressure albums. I mostly worked on Limelight and Tom Sawyer because of the technique and the difficult fill played and written by Neil Peart.

Worth the money but not perfect

Comments about Alfred The Drum Techniques of Rush Songbook:

This book gives detailed drum charts of all of Rush's most popular old era songs. The song selection is excellent as it hits all of the most important tunes. The more complicated songs are 6 or 7 pages - the author has not cut any corners.Overall if you are trying to learn Rush drums this book is invaluable for speeding up the process. However, for whatever reason it has many errors. Most of these are easy to spot as you are listening to the tracks. But in a few case on the more complicated or fast fills, the author has simply not understood what was going on (for example, The Spirit of Radio intro or first YYZ drum solo.) Even with the errors, it is still a steal as far as accelerating your learning curve and seeing the time signatures and structures used in the songs.
