Overview
In this follow-up to his top-selling Homespun video, Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers teaches seven more classic songs by the Grateful Dead, specially arranged for solo acoustic guitar and vocal. Jeffrey, the founding editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine, interviewed both Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir about their approaches to the guitar and songwriting, and captures the essence of the Dead's most enduring songs in these fresh, accessible arrangements.

With complete transcriptions and Jeffrey's clear, step-by-step demonstrations, you'll go beyond strumming the basic chords, adding riffs and lead licks inspired by the Dead's studio recordings and live jams. Most of the material is played in standard tuning with a pick, but you'll also learn some fingerstyle and pick-and-fingers technique, and discover new accompaniment approaches using dropped-D and DADGAD tuning and even a partial capo.

The video opens with the acoustic gem Uncle John's Band and proceeds through the rock anthem Touch of Grey, the blues riffs of Casey Jones, the modal jamming of Bird Song, the jazzy sounds of Eyes of the World and The Music Never Stopped, and the Deadhead favorite Althea.
