The Fender Bass, introduced in the 1950's by the inventive genius of Leo Fender, still remains today as the definitive electric bass guitar. Before Fender, there was simply no electric bass at all! Leo's design was so revolutionary that it rapidly became a 'classic,' an essential element which was responsible for defining the image of modern music. Every new bass is inspired (more or less) from his basic design. The Fender Bass tells the detailed history of the electric bass through the different bass models and their improvements, from their origins to the present form. The Fender Bass Book includes hundreds of black & white and color photos of the basses and their most famous players.

OK, but poorly edited

This little book may seem attractive at first due it's low price, but it is really no savings. Anyone looking for any depth will need another book, like the "Illustrated History" also offered by Hal Leonard. The most glaring fault is the translation. It reads like instructions for cheap electronics, with glaring grammatical errors and sentences that do not *quite* make sense. Entirely in black and white, except for four color pages.OK, but difficult to read and poorly edited. If you're buying just one book, spend the extra money and get the bigger one.
