The "in the style of" series isn't so much about learning to play guitar as it is memorizing tasty licks. No theory nor in depth lessons on "why" or "how" just Mitchell up there playing riffs/licks that are best known to each artist (I have 5 of these vids and they are all the same thing). Some have a small quickie section on how to obtain a particular artists "sound" as well. Which I found fairly worthless. So, basically the series is a demonstrating version of a tablature of rifs/licks and no depth of understanding. OK if you just want to memorize a few licks but with no real understanding of why or how to expand on your own. The fast food of guitar lessons.
The video tape quality is bad, the instructor just goes too fast even in slow mode. The tablature is so small it is hard to read. It is hard to see where he puts his fingers on the fretboard.
This Video is crap! I came into this video already knowing plenty of Metallica and some of the song that I already knew he was playing wrong and other riffs didn't even sound like the song! Then, the worst part is that he doesn't complete many of the songs, just certain riffs. This is crap!
