I purchased the second volume of this series, and my students liked it so much I bought this volume hoping it would be as great at the first. This volume has bass and guitar on it, which I like. However, it also has the hi-hats and a cowbell keeping time. My students do not like it as much as the second volume because of the hi-hat sound. The hi-hats keep a steady tempo, which is a good thing, but as the music changes and my students insert a fill it sounds funny when the hi-hats are still clicking away at a steady tempo. Also, when trying to play different sounds on the hi-hats or trying to change the tempo a little for added flavor, it does not sound as good, again due to the hi-hats on the CD. While I like the quality of the music that is recorded I wish they had left the hi-hats out of the mix. My students seem to agree. However, I still like the music and it is a great way to practice.
