If you want this product for a true beginner (ie. never played a brass instrument and does not know basic music theory at all), this is the dvd for you. If, however, you have some experiece with any instrument, particularly a brass, both volumes are way too basic. Eg. It spends several minutes explaining how to open a case. My wife and I got a good laugh from Vol.1. One doesn't start a C scale until well into Vol.2. I'm out the cash. Don't make my mistake.

Rather than be titled "Ultimate Beginner Series" this video should be called "Extremely Remedial Series". And I have absolutely no background with the trumpet. I borrowed a trumpet from a friend and when I picked it up she gave me a two minute introduction that equalled the entire volume 1 of the dvd. There are no "drills" or play-alongs that show notes with fingerings. In volume 1 he only teaches 3 notes...you can just as easily learn this from a book. I have been playing guitar for 5 years now and typically really enjoy dvd's because they usually have practice drills of increasing difficulty that I can continue to work on until I become proficient. No such luck here. It takes until the end of volume 2 to work up to a major scale. If you want to spend little to watch a guy play a major scale then this is the perfect video for you...Otherwise your money would be better spent on a book with a cd. I would not recommend this product.
