OVERVIEW

Radical plastic trumpet.

The world's first truly functional plastic trumpet available in brightly colored ABS Plastic. The Tiger is durable, playable, fun and affordable.

Ideal for everyone - from younger students, school bands on budget, marching bands, players that need a back-up trumpet (for times not practical to bring other instrument) to professional players - or for any trumpet player that wants a unique addition to their trumpet collection. Currently available in four colors - blue, red, pink and purple. Where will you play your Tiger?

Destined to be tremendously popular, the Tiger Trumpet possesses a satisfying timbre, surprisingly good valve action, and a stunning appearance. It is sure to be a conversation starter on the bandstand. It comes with a 3C Delrin mouthpiece designed by Warburton and a lightweight plastic case.

The Tiger Trumpet is a successful collaboration of brass Instrument designer and manufacturer, Mr. Sun JD, Rheinsound Music of Beijing, Kidd Industries plastic injection molding, and Terry Warburton of the USA.

The designer is Mr. Sun JD, chief trumpeter of The General Political Department of the PLA Art Troupe. He has 40 years of experience playing the trumpet. Tiger Trumpet is his research achievement of many years. Beijing Rheinsound Music is responsible for manufacturing and marketing the instruments. Warburton Music participates in product quality supervision and final inspection of the finished products.

This is the first truly playable plastic (ABS plastic) trumpet manufactured. It may look like a toy but after you play one, you realize that it is indeed a musical instrument.

The parts are meticulously manufactured by Sun JD Industries, and then assembled in John's (Qiang Zhong) brass instrument factory by the same skilled people who build the fine line of RheinSound Design trombones and trumpets. John's experienced team of assemblers is familiar with the precision required to assemble a brass instrument - ensuring that each Tiger Trumpet is built correctly.

Comments about Tiger Trumpet Plastic Bb Trumpet:

Valves stick after a little while with no improvement possible. Without a ton of volume, the sound is dull and empty. But if you really fill it up, it sounds like a sizzling lead horn, and is very fun to play. But because the valve issue I sent mine back. If this gets solved, I might try another one. They are fun and a bit silly.

valves are wrong period. no top caps are a problen and skinny plastic stems are going to fail. holes in caps need to be not round that whistle. funny though. tone is oddly good. strange to play. re design valves and make it possiable to clean second valve slide and it would be good. strange but good.

Comments about Tiger Trumpet Plastic Bb Trumpet:

Instrument would benefit my young grandson who appears to struggle with weight of normal trumpet. But valves are really not good enough. I've tried various solutions to problem, but none very satisfactory. For £250 this is definitely overpriced until valves are redesigned to eliminate problem. It looks fun, sounds good and I've got away with it on some gigs, but I'm really disappointed with it. Valves clunky and constantly become slow and sticky whatever I do, from using the suggested tiny amounts of supplied lube; using soapy water; dry. Dry is best but not comfortable. Have I bought a very expensive pup?

party stunt, not a reliable instrument

    By TptDood

    About Me Professional Musician

    Pros

    • Fun As A Toy
    • Party Stunt

    Cons

    • Huge Bore Size 464
    • Valves Fail Too Often

    Best Uses

    • Christmas Tree Ornament

Comments about Tiger Trumpet Plastic Bb Trumpet:

I ordered this basically as a party favor - used it for Christmas and New Year parties and it was a hit. People loved it, and were amazed that it was plastic. However - push too much volume or play too high and it resonates and sounds like a plastic trumpet. The included care instructions for the valves did not prove useful. The valve oil did not do well, and I quickly switched to my own. I also ignored the instructions of using as little oil as possible, and treated them like any other trumpet valves. The valves were immediately much better. After a little while I noticed the middle valve was usually a little slow to pop back. I tried the valves in different casing orders, because they are interchangeable, and it only got worse. The horn is currently laying under a bed at home somewhere, as I've given up hope. It was a fun toy to mess around with for a while, but in retrospect, maybe not so much considering the current list price. Definitely not something to use on a professional gig or as a replacement for a real horn.
