Most of the other review were praises but I did see a few talking about this stand being unstable or flimsy. I went ahead and ordered it anyway based on the number of positive reviews. The stand turned out to be more than I expected. It is high quality sturdy metal but is also light. I love that it is adjustable so I can have it high enough not to have to mess with my endpin as well as keep it up away from my pets. And even though I have it set high, it is still stable. Right now I have it on carpet and am more than pleased with it. The braces for the instrument have neoprene padding that is sufficient to prevent scratching. I am extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

For bass, the stand is not totally useless, but as noted above it is a poor design and not very well build. There are superior alternatives.
I owned this stand briefly and returned it due to its poor design. This stand appears to have been designed originally for cello, and then repurposed for bass (made larger). From the photos (not those on this web site), it looks like it could work OK for cello, but it does not work for bass. The weight of the instrument is carried by the back edge of the lower bout, and the neck; the front of the lower bout makes no contact with the stand whatsoever. This is not a good design for bass - the instrument is not held securely.

The construction seemed flimsy and not fully secure. The adjustable neck holder is wobbly and the bow holder is small. It has been noted by other users on a bass web site that the foam on the arms does not hold up and the welds can fail. I did not keep mine long enough to have that happen - I sent it back and bought another mfr's bass stand, which is far superior.
See note above re construction.
The value is low since it is a poor design for bass, and not that well made.

Spend your money on a different stand.

Comments about Ingles Cello and Bass Stand with Bow Holder:

I've used a lot of guitar and bass stands, but am new to the cello. I like practice to be as simple as picking up an instrument, and not having to fiddle with a case, adjustments... aside from tuning. I researched what other cellists liked, and a lot of them recommended this one. I totally agree. It's strong and solid, very adjustable, well balanced and well designed. You can lock the neck of your instrument in so it can't escape... Probably the best part is that you don't need to change your end pin setting at all. - The bow hook is really nice too.

Comments about Ingles Cello and Bass Stand with Bow Holder:

I play cello, guitar and keyboards in a band and therefore have to keep switching instruments all the time and quickly! I am able to quickly put my Yamaha electric cello on this stand and use the bow holder, then switch to the other instrument as necessary. The product is heavy duty, solid feeling and designed well. Numerous adjustments of height and width allow for use with electric--haven't tried with my "real" cello and won't likely do so as I won't use that one on gigs--too valuable and fragile to even have on stage.

Light weight. Easy to use. The upright bass fits right on there. Gets it off the ground and makes it easier for my son to grab and play (so he will practice more).

Comments about Ingles Cello and Bass Stand with Bow Holder:

I looked at all the upright stands on the market that would be appropriate for my Azola Bug Bass II both live and at home. This one seemed to be the best choice as it holds the bass securely at the bottom, preventing it from rotating and possibly falling over as with other stands. The two tines that hold the bottom of the bass are up/down adjustable. There is also a bar that secures the neck at the top which adds a feeling of security. This stand costs much less than the other stands I checked out and is a great choice for my needs. The stand is a bit bulky when broken down, but its functionality and relatively low price more than make up for it.

Comments about Ingles Cello and Bass Stand with Bow Holder:

I primarily use this stand to hold my BSX Bass Allegro Upright 5-String in our home studio. It is very sturdy, and I have no fear of it falling. The stand allows me plenty of tail room, so I can leave the pin fully extended while in the stand, and the neck lock is easy to open and close. Great stand for my purpose, and looks really sweet sitting under the Allegro.

We use this on my son's 1/2 size cello. I love that it's adjustable and that he can keep his endpin out between practices! This is solidly built. I first bought the Ingles stand, returned it, and then bought this one. Well worth it.

Pretty good if moditied a little

Comments about Ingles Cello and Bass Stand with Bow Holder:

The shape of the arms should be flatter. The curvature puts pressure on the front and back purfling of the cello and rubs off the finish. The rubber on the arms is not soft enough. To fix, buy a 1/2" diameter pipe wrap tube from a building materials center. Very inexpensive. Cut to length, and slide a piece onto each arm.
