OVERVIEW

The Electro-Harmonix Small Clone Analog Chorus Pedal delivers luxurious analog chorus effects, a distinctive tone, and flexibility that sets it apart from similar guitar effects pedals. A depth switch and single rate knob make this an easy-to-operate stomp box. Simple tweaks generate exciting doubling effects, chiming 12-string-style sounds or Leslie-like warbles. Its solid nickel steel case replicates the highly collectible original. Operates on a 9V battery or AC adapter.

A reissue of the chorus Kurt Cobain used in creating Nirvana's grungy sound.

This is the best sounding chorus pedal I've ever used...probably because all the other ones were digital. I keep the depth switch off and the rate knob at about 11:00 for some nice subtle color on a few of my clean passages. Sounds great with my live tube head and my solid state practice amp (on clean settings). I'm not sure how I feel about it with distortion yet. I'm also still up in th air about wither it's better in the loop or in front. Usually effects like this are better in the loop but this pedal seems to squish the line-level signal and it sometimes distorts a bit. Points off for the construction quality as the casing seems a bit weak. Also the power input requires a vintage style 1/8" plug so you have to either buy the adapter separately or, if you use a DC brick for you board you'll need a converter...kind of annoying. I also wish it had a mix control so it could be used in a parallel loop. But it's the sound that counts and that's top shelf as far as I'm concerned.

I have this pedal on my board for six years and it has served me well. For the price it's not a bad pedal but keep in mind like many EHX pedals it is large and made of thin metal. I now hear a loud pop when engaging the pedal so it's time for another chorus pedal and it won't be this one but corona chorus by TC Electronic. The corona is more pricey but smaller, better built and sounds better to my ear.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Classics Small Clone Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I love this pedal. I have tried other chorus pedals in the past and bought a TC Electronic Corona chorus and could never get the sound that I hear in a lot of music I listen too. The Corona sounds ok but it just sounds plain and flat, not what I am looking for. I just bought the Small Clone and found the sound I have been wanting, thick and and very lush, the sound seems almost stereo like. It adds something extra to the sound, something special. This is it. This is the pedal for me. I can live with the occasional "loud pop" when stepping on the foot switch, the lush swirling sound more than makes up for that. It is very basic, one knob for rate and one switch for shallow or deep effect, but the sound you will hear is awesome. I would gladly buy another if something happens to this one, although I might try the smaller version next time. This is the sound I have been looking for all these years. Now I have it.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Classics Small Clone Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

READ THIS FIRST: Unless you want to run this off of 9v batteries for the rest of your life you will need an Electro-Harmoniz MALE 9v adapter (which is NOT included with the pedal and MF doesn't sell).

However, the simple workaround is to purchase the Visual Sound 1/8" 1 SPOT Converter – which MF does sell. Make sure to get the FEMALE to MALE version.

Okay, pedal-wise... if you want the Kurt Corbain "Come As You Are" sound, set this to around 9:00 and smile your butt off.

Built like a tank, sounds phenomenal, girls dig you for digging it.

      Buy one and you're welcome.

bought the bigmuff, holy grail max, and this chorus pedal, but doesn't take the same plug as the other two, and nowhere does it say it on the product description other than 9 volt battery or A/C. So disappointed, I'm going to send it back and buy something else because I don't want to have to use batteries. I hope they don't charge me the return shipping cost.

Increidibly, 3 of these broke from December til March. Musicians friend was great and replaced each with no problem but what is the point? After a few weeks use, they all did the same thing - buzzing mixed with the chorus for a few days, then finally no sound. I gave up. Musicians friend issued a credit, I bought a Boss.

Bought this to play nirvana songs. As far as I can tell, that's basically all it's good for. One knob, one function. No depth, width, or rate. Real basic. Kurt Cobain loves this pedal.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Classics Small Clone Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal because chorus is my favorite guitar effect for that nice clean, watery, soothing sound, and this is exactly what this pedal does. It has a depth switch with two settings- and when they say depth they really mean it. The lower depth setting is a more subtle chorus, while the higher one immerses you in that deeper, "come as you are" kinda chorus. Then theres a circular rate knob, which controls the rate that the "wave" of chorus fluctuates back and forth at. It's amazing the number of different tones that you can get out of just two controls on this pedal, and if you mess around with your EQ you can get so many different sounds. The only single gripe that I have with this pedal is the fact that it doesn't take a standard wall adapter but thats not really a big deal as you can just buy an adapter for it. Overall if you're looking for a really clean sounding analog chorus, look no further.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Classics Small Clone Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I first got this pedal and thought with the bigger size it was would be a hard time or the fact that the power supply i have usually plugs right into the back to work on the go but this would take a 9v (which it comes already with a heavy duty) and isnt that hard to put in i'm not a mechanical guy at alll so these things i'm not gonna pretend to be the least bit good at although everything music sports i am god like in
it is very natural sounding with the analog
was so astounded to learn it hit some rhcp tracks i already played with my default generic chorus pedal sound more more smooth and natural
was able to play anything from red hot chilli peppers to u2 to tom petty to the script
i play alot of different stuff keyboards etc and it even brings accoustic guitar out though preferably electric accoustic i didn't even plug it into a rig chain and took it out to perfect it when you turn the switch up its more like nirvana and tone
when its done it becomes less distored and clean
small fuzz best used with other true bypass pedals
this even helped me play some more defined bass riffs
