Comments about Rocktron Dreamstar Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:
Rocktron came very close to making an awesome chorus pedal, but a few flaws really ruined it. My biggest complaint is that the 2 mix "dream" controls have a major impact on the overall volume, rather than simply balancing the wet and dry signals. If you use this pedal for subtle chorus, your signal gets much quieter when you engage the pedal. It's really annoying to kick on some light chorus and hear your volume drop. The pedal also cuts high end frequencies and gives a muffled sound (especially after a distortion pedal, or in the FX loop). Some people call this muffled sound "warm," but modulation shouldn't completely alter your EQ. To be fair, the Dreamstar's analog dual-chorus is very rich and organic. When the pedal is off, the true-bypass keeps your tone perfectly in-tact. The pedal seems sturdy, and looks cool too. The concept of the pedal is good, it just doesn't deliver. Bottom line: I got this pedal on clearance for a third of the usual price and it still wasn't worth the money. I returned it. I had the same volume and frequency problems with Rocktron's Reaction Series Chorus.
