I bought three for each of my kids. Happy with them for school use. Cant beat the price with a case and a cleaning rod. Exceptional customer service, shipping fast. I was most pleased with my 1st experience with musicians friend. I will come back in future!

I teach in a low income area where these recorders were purchased by the previous teacher at my school, and I am suffering the consequences of the poor build quality of the recorders. Though they are initially 1 piece recorders, many of my students' recorders are now in multiple pieces. The glue that holds the mouthpiece on is not sufficient and I have had to superglue many back together after only one drop (which is pretty much inevitable with elementary schoolers). I think that the Yamaha YRS-20 is a better alternative. For only a little more on the price, you get a much higher quality recorder in terms of playability, quality of materials, and sound.

I teach in an area where parents don't typically have a lot of extra money. I have used these recorders for the last few years. To me they sound just as good as the recorders twice the price that most of my fellow music teachers insist on. I'm all for getting the best for the best price and this is it.
