Comments about Blue enCORE 300 Condenser Live Vocal Microphone:

Does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it well! I bought it for the lead singer to cut through the mix more than he does with an SM-58. It has a wonderful, clear, crisp sound with all kinds of room for volume. Keep it away from the speakers, though!

Comments about Blue enCORE 300 Condenser Live Vocal Microphone:

Bought this for my wife who sings in the band. She had been using a wireless previously. Convinced her to try a wired mic to see how it would sound. The Blue 300 was pretty hot compared to her old one so I'd say the gain was at about half of what it was with the dynamic mic compared to this condenser. Ran this mic with the normal compressor settings turned off to see how it sounded for the last couple of shows and it sounds great uncompressed. Blue light to show phantom power is a slick touch. We play in a loud rock band and I did not have any feedback issues, even though the meter on the board shows this mic picking up about 80% of whatever the drums are doing. Would certainly purchase a Blue 300 again and might even consider one for myself.

Comments about Blue enCORE 300 Condenser Live Vocal Microphone:

I purchased an Encore 300 for a friend, in thanks, for a help with a building project. I currently use an Encore 100, which is a great mike, but the 300, is enviable. It is smooth, very detailed, and works very well with his voice. His singing partner has a much louder voice and this mike takes so much less gain to achieve the same volume. The mike can be worked from a little further away, and it still produces a very full sound. The phantom power light is also a plus, to confirm that phantom power is running through the channel. This mike is on my wishlist, and I enjoy doing sound for my friend's gigs. It is easy to eq and always produces clean, articulate, professional sounding vocals. I have had no feedback issues with it, as long as I am sparing with gain and reasonable monitor levels are used. Out front, it is a joy to hear someone sing through. It could be used for recording, keeping in mind that there are better condenser microphones for that. It is designed and excels at live performances.

Blue Encore 300 is a huge winner

Comments about Blue enCORE 300 Condenser Live Vocal Microphone:

My band wanted new miocrphones to replace the 1966 designed SM58's that we were using. We came across the Blue Encore mic's. We use the Blue Blueberry and Blue Kiwi mics in the studio and were hopeful that Blue came out with some great mic's for live situations as well. Blue did not disapoint. The Encore 100 offers a nicer top end over the SM58 but we wanted to check out the flagship 300 model as well...and we are glad we did. The Encore 300 offers a wonderful refined sound that had full low end, mid's and a top end that was not too bright. The Beta 58a we liked better than the SM58 as well since it offered some nice top end on our vocals. For straight rock music the Beta 58a might have been a good choice. But for capturing the full character of your voice, the 300 was a clean winner. It offered a more smooth detailed sound that reminded me of good condensor mic that you would get in the studio. Musicians Friend was great in providing the mic's and giving us good direction.

There is nothing I don't like about the mic. Perhaps it would have been nice if they included a black foam wind screen for times you are doing a gig outside and it's windy. But other than that, no complaints at all.
The Blue Encore has a Blue light on the mic that lights up when you have phantom power on the mic. Very nice idea. Sometimes you might be on stage and your mic does not work. You can look at your mic as see if the audio engineer forgot to put on the phantom power as he might think you have a dynamic mic.
Very rugged mic and the ring around it does a great job in protecting the mic in case it is dropped. The mic build is very good and it feels solid in your hands.
I have yet to find a better sounding microphone for this price for vocals. Many have stated they also prefer it over the Shure Beta 87a which cost more money.

        A Mic Vault Gotta Have

        By iaopres

        from Charlotte NC

Comments about Blue enCORE 300 Condenser Live Vocal Microphone:

I'd been looking for a sample of this mic for about a year, but none of my local music stores would carry it. They opted for something "they could sell." So I took a chance and bought the enCORE 300 [...]. I was interested in this because I wanted to give my guitarist and lead singer the ability to play guitar while not having to "eat the mic" during our worship services. As soon as we got it out of the box, hooked up, and powered up ... we were all blown away. Even the backup singers wanted to try it out. It is a hot mic that will pick up your voice easily while still giving a great tone and giving you lots of headroom. I've used Shure and EV condensers for years, but after this the Blue 300 will be the only condenser mic in my vault. I'm so convinced I've even bought another one.

        Great vocal mic

        By NeonNationScott

        from Corona, CA

Comments about Blue enCORE 300 Condenser Live Vocal Microphone:

I have a Shure Beta 58, and I wanted another option for live vocals. I also wanted a microphone that would do well in a home studio environment. While the Encore 300 is amazing for vocals on large stages, it can pick up a little more than you want in terms of unintended stage volume if you have a loud band. For smaller stages, or if I've got a bowl shaped wall behind me, I'll usually stick with the Beta. That said, the clarity of my vocals with the Encore 300 compared to my Beta was astonishing. My guitar player wants one now. You have to adjust your microphone technique a bit, but the dynamics are all there. GREAT Mic!The Encore 300 sounds great in my home studio. It records instruments very well, and has a really hot signal. I don't have a whole lot of experience with condensers, but I think I made a good choice when I bought this one.I intend to also try the Encore 200, with its active electronics, for stage use.
