I feel inclined to review, since I went in on one blindly. Overall, this mic is better on vocals than the 990 is, at they are not as muddy, you can tell a difference in the mids and highs; Its also very sensitive. Once you EQ, you can make this Mic sound pretty darn good. The build of the mic is nice, theres not a ton of mesh on the wire grill like there is on the 990, but this mic pops rather easily, so make sure you have the pop filter, and you may need to speak off to the side of the mic. Although it feels sturdy, it is a bit light, which makes me not want to drop it. I give this product a 9/10, the only thing that couldve made it better was including a shockmount. If you need shockmount size, aim for the V67G or the V57 size as the 990 shockmount is too wide to fit it. At the price right now, it is pretty much a steal, just dont forget to buy a shockmount!
This mic does not contain any specific features such as a DB switch or anything else, just a microphone similar to others like the MXL V57 or V67M.
The build quality feels sturdy and well designed, not quite as heavy as the MXL 990, although I feel like you would not want to drop this microphone on the floor.
I decided to go in on this mic with no reviews; I was pleasently surprised. The only thing that couldve made the deal better was including a shock mount with the packaging. I ended up getting the musiciansgeat shockmount to accompany it (fits the mic a little tight, but it works).

Decent sound. Relatively inexpensive. I also have an MXL-V63M condenser mic and even though they're similar in price I prefer the V63M over the V250. Not a bad mic though! Especially if you just simply need another condenser for whatever reason. Feels a little light, like it's not as solid as the V63M. Still a good mic though.

Condenser mic are inheritantly fragile. Don't forget to get a windscreen/filter AND a shock mount which you should have to protect. Very satisfied with sound.

Comments about MXL V250 Condenser Microphone:

I wanted to add another condenser mic to my arsenal but funds have been tight and I've had some previous bad experiences with "low end" microphones. When this one came up on the "Stupid Deal of the Day" I snatched one up figuring (a) I wasn't out a lot of money, and (b) I couldn't return it if it was truly awful.

This week my partner and I recorded a sort of quick-n-dirty Christmas album to give as gifts to some family members. I used this as an opportunity to put this new mic through it's paces and used it exclusively. We used it to record acoustic guitars, ukulele, autoharp, tambourine, sleigh bells, and a wide variety of voices: from the two of us, who are both pro singers, to my partner's sister and four of our nieces, aged 4, 9, 11, and 16.

I don't regret it for a minute. The results exceeded my expectations on every track. It's a keeper, and will be super handy when I don't want to get out the more expensive mics for less-than-pro people who come into around. ;)

Comments about MXL V250 Condenser Microphone:

I bought this from a Stupid Deal of The Day for 80% off the original price and definitely got my money's worth. I do small recordings here and there, whether it be original or covers. Overall, this is a solid vocal mic. and I would even say it's worth its original price.. I predominately used an SM58 to record vocals, but now I own my very own condenser and am very pleased with the quality of it. I have used a few other condenser mics. such as the AT2020, NT1-A, and the KSM32/SL, so I do have experience with similar priced mics. and higher end mics. And as stated before, you'll definitely get your money's worth. It's nothing fancy, so don't expect studio-quality vocals, but you can expect solid demo-quality vocals.
