Experienced flamenco and Spanish guitarists around the world are more than familiar with Cordoba's exceptional collection of nylon stringed guitars. With that being said, you don't have to be a stage veteran to own a Cordoba guitar that's beautifully crafted. In fact, Cordoba is just as dedicated to aspiring beginners as they are to professionals, and that's what the Cordoba Protégé series is all about. Each instrument in the Protégé series is crafted specifically for children (as young as 5 years old). Available in full, half, three-quarter and one-quarter sizes, these guitars are comfortable to hold and easy to play, so a youngster can feel confident in their abilities right from the get-go.

Like most Cordoba-crafted nylon string guitars, their Protégé series is loaded with best sellers. Of course, the right one for you will depend on the size of the player you have in mind. For the most petite of frames, there's the Protégé C11 1/4 Size Classical Guitar, which has an 18.9" scale length. Then, you have models with a 22.8" scale length, 24.2" scale length, and a full-size guitar for older students. Each guitar size in this series features a spruce top with mahogany back and sides, Hauser-style wood-inlaid mosaic rosette, nickel tuning machines, premium Savarez strings and a high-gloss polyurethane finish. They also include a two-way truss rod and a durable Cordoba gig bag - so take your pick!

In addition to guitars, the Protégé collection is also home to a concert ukulele; the U1 is an excellent choice for beginner ukulelists and delivers a sweet sound at an affordable price. To put it simply, there is no better way to kick off a young classical guitarist's journey than with a model from Cordoba's Protégé series. On top of the fact that nylon-stringed guitars are often recommended by guitar teachers for younger children (since they require less of a callous build-up to play), you can take comfort in knowing that your pupil is learning on an instrument that was designed specifically with them in mind.
