The complete, integrated Live 9 studio.
Ableton Live 9.5 is here and it’s equipped for groundbreaking music creation. Ableton Live is one of the best performance based DAWs available on the market today, and with version 9.5 comes a host of new features that will help you get the music out of your head and into your ears. New in 9.5 is a completely overhauled edition of Simpler, Live’s powerful but easy-to-use sampling instrument that lets you slice and warp samples with even greater detail and accuracy. There’s also improved waveforms, meters and coloring, as well as the introduction of analog modeled filters and a completely new feature called Link that lets you connect multiple instances of Ableton Live in perfect sync.
No matter what instruments you use to make music, Live makes it easy to capture every note you play. Live offers extensive MIDI recording capabilities for working with hardware or software synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines. And equally full-featured audio recording allows you to capture sounds from the real world. You can even move seamlessly from audio to MIDI; using Live’s unique audio-to-MIDI conversion tools, turn drum breaks, guitar lines, or even harmony parts into MIDI patterns that you can edit and reuse with your own sounds.
Sketch, tweak, and experiment
Live’s Session View is a musical sketchpad. Freely mix and match musical ideas without the constraints of a timeline. Try out parts in any combinations. Improvise and collect song ideas without ever stopping the music.
Layout and arrange your ideas
With Live’s Arrangement View, place your musical ideas along the timeline or record your Session View improvisations, building up your song as you play. Move blocks of music or time around to create the perfect arrangement. Mix and edit every detail.
Use any sounds, at any tempo
One of the things that makes creating with Live so fluid is the ability to change the tempo and timing of any audio, in real-time, without stopping the music. We call this warping. Use warping to mix and match loops from a variety of tempos, fix timing errors in recorded performances, or radically reshape any audio into new sound design directions.
Performing music with Live
Live is designed for the stage. Session View is the perfect environment for improvising and playing with musical materials. Everything stays in sync, so you can mix and match audio at any tempo and never have to think about lining things up.
Whether you’re playing hardware or software instruments, improvising with prepared loops, or starting from scratch at every gig, Live gives solo performers everything they need to do great shows.
Live is even more powerful when it’s hands-on. Use MIDI controllers to control almost anything in your Live Set. Or use a variety of iOS or Android apps on phones or tablets. Live is made to be played.
Ableton Push is the perfect partner for your live performances. Play notes and chords, launch loops, tweak sounds, or even build drum patterns and step sequences on the fly. Push is an instrument for the studio or the stage.
New in Version 9.5
Get more from your samples with the overhauled Simpler
Simpler, Live’s powerful but easy-to-use sampling instrument, has been completely overhauled with a new interface, warping, slicing, and new analog-modeled filters built in conjunction with Cytomic. Slice samples across the keyboard, play single hits, or warp long samples so that they always stay in time with your song.
Improved waveforms, meters, and coloring
New waveforms show more detail and zoom and scroll smoothly. To help keep your Sets organized, new clips take their track’s color, and tracks are now automatically colored by default.
Updated meters show both peak and RMS, to indicate both sudden changes in level as well as perceived loudness. This makes it easier to control the dynamics of both individual tracks and your overall mix.
Great sounding analog-modeled filters
Live 9.5 introduces new analog-modeled filters based on classic vintage hardware models that will self-resonate, feedback, and distort beautifully. These filters were built in collaboration with Cytomic and are included in Simpler, Sampler, Operator, and Auto Filter.
More sounds, samples, and drums
The library of included sounds has been updated for Live 9.5 to get you making music even faster. This includes new drum kits, presets using the new analog-modeled filters, hundreds more one shots, and new audio clips.
Play inspiring new instruments
The new Max Essentials Pack includes three stunning new synthesizers with wide-ranging sound design possibilities and a streamlined set of controls.

Comments about Ableton Live 9.5 Suite:
I have used Ableton for many years now since version 5. If you want something easy go for Audacity, which is free online, or Fruity Loops. If you want something professional then you need Ableton. It DOES have a learning curve. I suggest buying the box editions and really reading and learning the manual. What you get out of Ableton is what you are willing to put in. It's got a library of sounds that can't be beat, warping, and I find it extremely reliable. Again, it's not for the beginner. It's for those who are serious about their music.

Comments about Ableton Live 9.5 Suite:
This is clunky, contains nothing of real use, and makes you take the long way around for everything, save the effort and probably a bit by getting Logic Pro. You can't even find proper answers to questions from the Abelton site. It's almost like tehy don't know how to use their own terrible software.
