Comments about Nady DM70 Drum and Instrument Microphone:

I recently used the Nady DM70 and could not believe how good they sound. I own all "good" mics, a variety of Shure models, SM58s, Beta57As SM81. I'm very skeptical of cheap gear. Our drummer has the Nady set and brought them to practice. I really didn't expect much, however, when I plugged the DM70 in, I was blown away. I went back and forth, speaking into the DM70, and then the SM58, and the DM70 sounded every bit as good as the Shure. Then for the real test, I mounted the DM70 to a tom. The sound was really, really good - very professional. Run it through a compressor / gate, and the sound is pro all the way. The finish and build quality looks great too. It's hard to believe that a mic that looks and sounds this good is so inexpensive. I don't know how they can build them and sell them this cheap. I can't speak to the durability, but I will soon know how they hold up.

Comments about Nady DM70 Drum and Instrument Microphone:

I use this mic on my snare mounted right on the hoop with a mount that I welded up with some sheet metal that I use to make cowbells with. The mic came with a 5/8" to 3/8" adapter in the mount so I just welded on a 3/8" stud to screw the mic on to. It sits about 4" away from the batter head at a 45 degree angle. I find that it is directional enough to reject most of the hi-hat which sits right next to the snare in my cheapo kit. It rejects it so much that I really need a dedicated condenser just for the hi-hat. IMHO, I think this mic sounds as good as the old standard SM57. I run it through my Behringer Xenyx 1202 into my Lambda interface using Cubase LE to record with. I have included links to two original songs of mine that were recorded using this mic, a Nady DM90 on the kick, as well as a Nady SCM 960 picking up the room sound along with several other non Nady products doing other chores like my modified Realistic PZMs for Cymbals and my Shure B.G. 4.0 on the hi hat. I also mic'd the guitar with the SCM 960 and the bass with the DM90. Vocals were done with the SCM 960 as well. I do not claim to be a professional sound engineer or even a good musician. But I like to write and record songs so I wanted some equipment that I could afford. Since I have no dreams of rock and roll stardom, this low cost mic fit the bill for me. It does what I wanted it to do so I'm happy.

This little guy is being used to mic up my Bugera V22 and I couldn't be happier. It's not a Sennheiser, but for the money, you can't beat these! I'd put them up against an SM57 anyday. 33 years under my belt of playing for my supper and this little guy was a very nice find!

BEen using this in demo studio for 2 years and it always sounds great. Full and warm, always clean, and works for micing amp cabs, close-up acoustic guitar and just got blown away on its sound for vocals! Gotta get more of these!

              ???

Comments about Nady DM70 Drum and Instrument Microphone:

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why a friend mocks Nady/Behringer gear. To date, I've yet to have any equip. from either of those companies go bad on me without getting more than my $'s worth out of them first (I've owned various pieces over many years time). This mic captures the snare VERY well. Makes it very present in the mix while maintaining a flat response; I've done a half dozen recordings of snare with this mic and haven't touched EQ to the snare yet (haven't had to - "It tracks great" is what one drummer friend of mine shockingly called it).

              Nice MIcs for the price

Comments about Nady DM70 Drum and Instrument Microphone:

Purchased a 5-mic set and have used them primarily in a live drum/percussion set-up and have very pleased with the sound. Our rhythm guitarist is also our sound man and he is quite impressed with the sound as well. I would call this mike and its' brethren the DM-80 all tremendous values.
