I had recently bought an old drum set for my first set about two years ago, and I decided that it was time to upgrade, if I wanted to be able to play in any band, because my old set just wasn't cutting it.
i shopped around for around 5 months before finally deciding on a set, and this was the one I believed was right for me, and I WAS RIGHT! I love this set, it's a great deal if your looking for an upgrade from your non-dependable drum set! The only thing I found wrong with the set, was the snare stand was a little wobbily, but I didn't really care, because I had a brand new snare stand anyway!
if your worried about the black hardware and stands, don't be because...
#1 They are just as reliable as the chrome.
#2 The paint on them doesn't chip, like you would think they would!
#3 THIS IS THE SET FOR ME I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!
Great Condition!
When I bought the set I was afraid that they were going to be scratched or something in the shipment process, buit when I got them I was completely ASTONISHED at how GREAT the shells looked!

I was referred to this set by a drummer that I use to be in a band with. After years of putting off buying the set, I finally purchased the set. As far as cosmetically the drums look great. Though they don't live up to the same standard with craftsmanship. I played the drums for the first day and was really disappointed with the cymbals, especially the hi-hat. The hi-hat sounded nothing but awful. The hi-hat nut that keeps the top hat suspended in air kept coming loose causing the cymbals to fall into each other. I had to take the top one off and screw it back together multiple times until the point I gave up. I understand stock equipment isn't usually going to be good, but apparently you're going to have to replace everything, so I decided to go with a different set. Also the cymbal stands are black, and may cause trouble whenever you're going to add more stands because the standard is usually silver so you'll have different colored stands. Like I said I was dissapointed with the set and called musiciansfriend the same day I got them to return them. Musiciansfriend was great and completely understanding, once again having some of the best customer service I've ever dealt with.

Comments about Ddrum D120B 5-Piece Drum Set:

purchased for son in band. Teacher said couldn't go wrong and he was right. Had a professional musician check it out when we recieved. Thought it is a great set for the money and didn't sound bad for a down scaled set. This set slightly smaller than full sized drum set(which is great this ables him to have in his room). Anyone starting out or just purchasing set for 1st time; this set is a great value for what you receive.

Comments about Ddrum D120B 5-Piece Drum Set:

I was asked to do a week of fill in drumming. It was a pro gig in a cool venue. The drums were already there. The drummer let me play his set. These things worked super. He had changed the front bass drum head so I did not know the brand. I thought they were $600, or so,drums. My only desire about this set is I wish it came with an 18" kick instead of the 22". These are a set that works well. I do not know how the stock drum heads perform because they were replaced with another brand. In 40 years as a pro, this is my opinion.

Comments about Ddrum D120B 5-Piece Drum Set:

got this on sale. great price. got here in 2 days.been ordering from this site for
5 + years and had a few problems the last few months with almost everything i ordered (still not sure why).but they always work it out.
love the company & recommend it to those i know.
opened box up, notice it was cheaply made.kinda expected that though hence the
price of it.no biggie.love the almost all black design though.took everything out. not sure why the cymbal stand pieces
were in with the snare drum stand pieces
& some of the snare pieces in with the seat pieces and so on... confusing since no instructions
came with it at all.kinda wondering how a beginner (if i was one) would know how to put it together with no instructions.
    lol.
snare is already put together.so i get out my drum dial tuner and whoever tuned the snare before packing it must of been
drunk. lug tensions were at 85,82,70,40,60... all over the place.get out the bass drum...it has 5 noticable dents on the inside
wood.get the front head on the bass with no problem, flip it over and the lug is missing the inner thread in it (where the bolt screws in
to keep the head on).take off the lug (rubber gasket is missing to) and frantically search my basement for extra parts i have left over
from other drum projects over the years. finally find a thread from a pearl and use it. bolt the lug back on and low & behold
the bass screw doesnt fit my new thread. go figure.have to take another bolt from another drumset i have to fit the lug now.
again good thing i'm not a beginner & this isnt my first set or i'd be in trouble.everything else went together fine until i get
to the tom arms. slip them out of the plastic and a small 1 centimeter piece falls out of the bag.i study the arms for a bit and
notice the pin has slipped out of the hole in the arm so i hammered it back in.
drumheads arent the greatest.you'll probably have to replace those and the snare before long.
kinda staisfied.kinda mad at myself for buying it.
has been a hour now and already getting really dusty on the black shells and hardware.probably have to cover it up to control the
    dust its gonna accumulate.
be a good set for a kid or a beginner if they know how to assemble it.

some parts came warped... A couple heads came in bad condition and one of the rings for the kick drum seemed to be warped. The bad heads made it a nightmare to tune the kick drum especially. I could not get a few of the heads to lose there wrinkles. After i put all the heads on and tuned the drums slapped some moongel on the kit it sounds pretty dang good for the money. Great kit! I could have done without some of the problems with the heads and none circular rings lol. If you really care about drums spend more money. The hardware is a pain to adjust the stands are lightweight and cheap. The heads were pretty bad. We got the kit for [$] on sale you can't really beat the price and honest can't expect to much for the money. I spoiled myself with a sonor force drum kit.great kit great hardware

Not a top of the line set but you get a lot for the money. The drums when tuned right, have
a very good sound. Accessories/hardware are not the greatest but you have all you need to get you started
        or for practice.

I've been playing for a while but am pretty poor, so I was given this kit as a gift. Well, the hardware is pretty cheap and needed to be replaced quickly. But other than that, I recommend this kit to any beginner. If you plan on really movin up as a drummer, be prepared to purchase new equipment, new/used cymbals, and new drum heads. Stock usually wears out really quickly on these cheaper beginner sets.

Comments about Ddrum D120B 5-Piece Drum Set:

Great entry level kit. As a bassist of 35 years and former touring musician, I have been around many kits over the years. I also play drums as a second instrument. I purchased this kit for my ten year old son who was getting good with the bongos and needed to move up. I found it to be well crafted considering it's low price and Chinese origin. DO know how to tune your drums before you say they sound terrible. If you are new to the drums, which I imagine you are if you are considering this kit, make sure to watch a tutorial online for tuning the heads.
