Haven't had this kit very long, but for the recent price reduction it was a good buy to get into electronic drums.
Everything went together well, only issue was the snare arm rotating, but the issue was resolved by tightening the support clamp and not the pad mount.Haven't noticed latency mentioned in other review; even feeding my amp through a mixer. Overall the kit is pretty sturdy for being plastic. Remember to tighten all the clamps after you have everything positioned as you like. The only drawback is the lack of a good Ride Cymbal selection.
Also, these are single zone pads and not a high end Roland kit. You get what you pay for! Great starter set.

If you have played any of the Fame, Legacy, Medeli, Black Mamba, or other cheap edrum kits then you have played the ddrum dd1. Sadly, the once heralded ddrum name has been taped on the side of a cheap Chinese import product. If anyone knows anything about edrums, please stay away, please...i beg of you. This is nothing like a yamaha, roland, alesis or ddrum 2,3,4,4se product. This is a beginner kit for someone interested in making noise when a stick hits a skin, seriously. This review is not a joke, this product is a great starter kit for someone unfamiliar with edrums. But, if you want a ddrum product, do not make the purchase even if the price is appealling. The pads are the same plastic pads every importer is including with their kits and nothing makes these unique, other than the red paint job. This is the same kit you find at walmart with first act labelled on them. I wish i could provide an upbeat review, but this is a poor sounding, inexpensive Chinese import. Any of the other reviews that claim this sounds good have yet to hear a drum module, this is the same garbage the Fame module includes that sells on late-night t.v. mail order shows not joking guys... Very sad, ddrum once was the premier edrum products in the WORLD!!!
Seriously. If you drop this, the plastic casing will crack.
Value is not too bad, Under $600 for a full edrum set is the correct price point.

Comments about Ddrum DD1 Electronic Drumset:

I've been playing for a little over 33 years and owned all sort of drums. From TAMA, OCDP, Ludwig....you name it. I bought this little kit because of the price reduction and because my old Roland TD5 was on it's last leg.....I thought. So I purchased this ddrum about a year and a half ago mainly to just practice with so as to not disturb my wife. Needless to say it didn't take more than about 2 weeks to drag out my Roland again and hook it up and cast this thing to the depths of my storage shed. The pads are cheaply made. They actually feel more like a thin sheet of rubber draped across a hoop and stretched. The latency is atrocious. I could probably hit the snare, go make a sandwich and it'll finally make a sound. Ok, maybe that was an exaggeration but you get the point. Every drummer hits the rim by accident sometimes, but I found myself checking to see if I chipped plastic off when I did on this one. If you're looking for a pad that has stick bounce.....look elsewhere. See my comment about the cheaply made pads. No response. Forget trying to do a single stroke roll. It ain't happenin' cap'n! Want 16th notes to sound like 8th notes? Here's your edrum!! All of this to simply say that from a company that USED to be top of the line in edrums, they really let us down with this one. I plan on selling mine but I don't know if I can screw some poor drummer like I got screwed. Maybe I'll find a use for it one day.......at least the tubing.

              About Me Experienced

Comments about Ddrum DD1 Electronic Drumset:

I used to play drums many years ago, and decided a modest electronic set would be a good way to get back into playing. I liked the idea of using earphones and being able to set the sounds like I wanted, however this kit is fairly limited.

I did not find a pre-set kit where I liked all the sounds, so a friend (who is a professional drummer) and I started with the best and started tweaking. I will say that the drum sounds are pretty good, the hi-hat and crash adequate, but the ride cymbal was very limited. I did not like that there was no way variation on where you played the cymbal - you couldn't play near the edge and get a different sound if you played near the bell. I also did not like that there was no option to dampen the cymbals. I had seen this feature on a more "advanced" kit, and I realize that the price-point is a factor, but there should have, at minimum, been more cymbal tone options.

Regarding the construction. It is lightweight, which I liked, and it was easy to set up, however I feel that the clamping system could easily break. When my friend and I were toying with the set up, the snare kept slipping downward, despite my many attempts to tighten it. Being that those parts are plastic, too much torque will cause it to crack in no time.

So, in short, I am in the process of returning this kit. I wish I had liked it better. It looks great, and even though the price was reasonable, because I don't love it, I know I won't play it, and then, no matter how much money I did or didn't spend, it would be wasted money. I'm giving another kit a try, and I will review it as soon as I have it and play with it.

Comments about Ddrum DD1 Electronic Drumset:

I bought this pretty much a year ago, I was mostly new to drumming and I like this kit because it helped me advance. Definitely for beginners. I say that because I use it to jam with my band and I hit pretty hard. Somewhere along the line I wrecked the hi hat plug in, and it was an easy duck tape fix but now my crash cymbal is starting to do the same. The pads can take a beating, they still are in good condition. Overall its a good mostly beginner drum kit. It is also a major plus when it comes to controlling noise while you can also hook it to a good amp and get really nice sound from it.

I liked the look of this set, but the plastic rims get in the way, and are very loud if you mis-hit. When I got mine all set up, I found that the hi-hat only worked in the closed position. Now I find myself having to deal with Ddrum, since I got nowhere with musicians friend, who should be taking care of this for me......
