Comments about Ddrum Digital Drum 4 Pad Sample Station:
I was looking for an electronic kit to augment my acoustic kit. I saw this kit as a Stupid Deal Of The Day so I decided to order it. The stands are nice, heavy duty stands. The pads seem to be reasonably good quality. As I assembled it I noticed that the way the module attaches to the stand is not a great solution - it involved tightening metal against plastic and was sure to break at some point. Once I got it up and running I went through all the sounds and they just weren't that great. There is no way to upload your own sounds so it's not really a sample station. I was considering buying another midi device that I could use this device to trigger. The issue is that the pads don't trigger reliably. I played with the settings (Gate, etc) but they just didn't have enough options to really hone in the feel. For me, this kit just wasn't even good enough to be functional. It's fine for single hits but multiple strokes just don't register properly. I really wanted to like it and I thought it be cool to have electronic sounds for my kit. It's just that the sound module is not up to par. Ultimately, I decided to return it.
