Traditional tone-dampening mechanism. Pick up several to damp a whole set.

I bought 5 of these & it is not all metal like it looks, the wing nut/cam assy. Is useless & poorly designed & made of plastic! It is supposed to have a stop when you turn the wingnut but it goes right past the stop because the ID of the nut is TOO BIG! The adjuster has no knurls & gets very slippery to turn with sweaty hands. If you turn the adjuster in to pull the pad against the head & want to release it it gets stuck on the crummy plastic cam assy. & you have to push it back in! All the pad rivets were very loose & I am very sorry I bought this product & will probably be returning it. Should have bought the Pearl unit instead! Be warned it looks good but it is very poorly designed, Plastic hardware does NOT belong on my drums!!

Fellow skinsmen, don't even think you'd want to drill 3 holes in any of your gear for this thing. It is all (bad) plastic other than the felt washer and metal strip. One of the first Gibraltar items I've purchased and I'm shocked. Face it, buy the TAMA, GRETSCH, YAMAHA or whatever brand names if you want internal controls...yep, you'll pay more but this is your drum(s) you're talkin' about right? Shame on Gibraltar...I was insulted. Returned it immediately.
