Comments about Gibraltar Intruder Dual-Chain Drive Double Bass Drum Pedal:
While i do not own these personally i have been using a set for about a month now. My bassist trys to play the drums and he let me use them. They are very solid pedals. It does take a lot of power compared to Axis for example. But its not a problem for me, i actually liked these better than the Axis just because the axis are very sensitive. If you are looking to play 64th notes non stop these might not be the pedals for you. But if your looking for a great power to speed ratio i recommend these.
Comments about Gibraltar Intruder Dual-Chain Drive Double Bass Drum Pedal:
I got this pedal last Christmas and the only problem that I noticed with it is that it's very heavy for a pedal and tend to take alot to get used to do to the pressure you need to put on the pedal. But overall its a good pedal even the though the price is considerably high.
Comments about Gibraltar Intruder Dual-Chain Drive Double Bass Drum Pedal:
I bought these pedals because I wanted durability, adjustability and consistency at a reasonable price. These Intruders feel solid and smooth, however, if you get into "double bass" playing, you will find that at faster tempos, at 135 bpm's and up, you will have to work hard. So, although it's not a feature mentioned anywhere at all, you can adjust the cam for more attack, thus raising the footboard angle. I'm very pleased with these pedals, but will be upgrading, just haven't decided on what to get next. But if your a casual player and want quality, these are a must buy. But, if you're going to be playing double bass drum patterns and utilzing a lot of them in fills, then you should look into the Iron Cobras or the DW's...
Comments about Gibraltar Intruder Dual-Chain Drive Double Bass Drum Pedal:
I was very dissapointed with these pedals when I set them up. The problem I have with these are that the hoop clamp is not centered on the bass hoop. Instead they are offset to the right so when you try to tighten it down it pulls the right side of the footboard off the carpet or floor which was very annoining. Second the loosest setting for the springs are to tight to play fast. Gibraltar makes some of the best hardware I know of but dont buy these pedals. Im buying pearl eliminators instead.
Comments about Gibraltar Intruder Dual-Chain Drive Double Bass Drum Pedal:
So I wanted to get a better pedal...I've owned DW7002pt doubles and played higher end pedals like pearl eliminators and iron cobras. This pedal is the perfect balance between higher end function and reasonable price. This pedal does have a very LIQUID or fluid feel...immediately I could feel my legs relax while I let the pedal help me power through heavy double bass fills and blasts. The pedal itself it relatively light and comes with a padded case w/ nifty compartments. onboard tool holder with all the wrenches to adjust the pedal. Even the beater heads pivot! For the price this thing is amazing...I would however replace the stock springs right away as they are thin metal and very suseptable to breakage with heavy use or if you just like more tension like me. Always remember to go through each drum key and retighten everyone upon arrival as most will be slightly loose.
