OVERVIEW

Go soft on your bum... so you can play hard.

Hard drum throne surfaces can be very uncomfortable and difficult to endure for extended periods of time. Without solid support and comfort, a drummer's style and creativity can be severely impaired.

Gibraltar's Softy Throne incorporates a top-grade 5"-thick cushion and an outer layer of plush Cordura fabric creating a soft and comfortable sitting surface. The Softy seat mounts on a double-braced tripod base with die-cast spindle height adjustment system and Gibraltar's Super Foot solid foundation rubber foot support.

I'm an old key learning to play piano/keyboards; a couple of hours seated at the instrument was stressing my back & backside. The Gibraltar Softy Drum Throne has solved all problems for me.

The Softy is extremely comfortable and stable, It is infinitely adjustable between approx. 20" to 28" height AND you can swivel or lock-in your perfect keyboard position. The padded top is terrific & won't cut off the circulation in the back of the legs. This is the perfect keyboard seating solution for me and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for anyone.
Adjusts to 28" high, swivels, allows position-lock, portable, very stable legs with large, non-slip "feet" and the Gibraltar Softy has a wonderfully cushioned seat that will handle even heavy adults.
Relatively light yet strong; very solidly contstructed.
There are cheaper thrones but the Gibraltar Softy Drum Throne is maximum bang for the buck.

Gibraltars quality is rock solid and I trust their equipment. But the softy is not soft, I weight 180 lbs and I don't put a dent in that thing. I own their Oversized Motorcycle Throne and its very soft and comfortable but bought this throne to tour with since its smaller but so far it's like sitting on a brick with cloth on it.

Comments about Gibraltar Softy Drum Throne:

Great and really comfy throne that I use when playing keyboards. This is much more padded than standard keyboard benches and cheap thrones. It feels sturdy and solid and the seat is so much more comfortable then the rest. Kind of pricey but is well worth it if you will be sitting during a whole set

Comments about Gibraltar Softy Drum Throne:

Your throne is one of the most critical pieces of equipment you can ever buy as a working drummer. It is worth the money to buy the best one you can. The Gibraltar Softy Drum Throne is a quality piece of equipment worth your checking out. The Clydesdale feet and double braced tripod legs provide a very stable platform. The piano thread post allows for micro adjustment to finely dial in the precise hight you need and the clamps and memory locks will keep it there breakdown after breakdown. The very thick (5" by 14") seat pad with a velour top provides an excellent seating surface for extended playing time. Overall the component materials are strong and durable guaranteeing many years of use. It is a bit heavy in the equipment case, but that flaw is negated by the throne's overall quality. Also, its minimal hight is going to be a problem for shorter players. I am 6' even and at its lowest setting it is perfect for me. Anyone smaller will feel too high in the saddle. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the product and the companies reputation. If you need a high quality, stable, durable, and comfortable throne (and your kind of a big guy) the Softy Throne may be just what you are looking for.

Very comfortable; heavy duty; as good as thrones that cost a lot more. If you like the simple round style with lots of comfortable padding, this one is for you.

This is the Second Big Softy throne i've purchased .... I'm a big guy, 6 ft, 300 lbs. I play out locally most weekends. My throne gets a lot of hours on it. After two years and the need for a student throne in my lesson studio, I bought a new one. In comparison, the first throne had not lost much of it's comfort. I've played Roc-n-Soc, Pork Pie, Tama and some others over the years. This is a rock solid and comfortable throne ..... and at a cost MUCH lower than others

After reading several reviews before deciding on the softy I will agree that it takes a lot of pressure off of the butt, back rest not needed unless you really want it. Sat through a 5 hour practice session with breaks and no butt issues. Good height, sturdy feet and swivels a little bit to give some room when moving around the drum set. last but not least I am a big guy 5ft 11in 250lbs and it supports me!
