Comments about LP256-B Tito Puente 13" and 14" Brass Timbales with Stand:

I really wanted to like these, but just ended up selling them in the end. Early USA made and early Thailand models were great because the shells used to be thicker, but these newer styles are thiner and the cascara sounded terrible. This tuning system was meant for calf heads that don't require as much torque and when tuned up high, the L brackets start to fold into the shell. This is a terrible system. Ultimately ended up selling these at a loss and bought an older set of LPs that I had to get a horn repair shop to take the dents out of. The stand was also too heavy and did not allow for seated playing. I would like to have heard these with calf heads, but even then I still think they are overpriced for what they are.
