I purchased this set 3 years ago. Since then I have added a couple of pieces, 10" tom and 14" floor tom, mine are Amber in color. I have them paired with Sabian AA and AAX cymbals. I love the rich tones produced by the toms and the crisp snap of the snare. The factory heads leave a little to be desired, but fine for a while. A set of studio rings will help remove some of the ring but, other than that an excellent set and an excellent value.
Hi, I just purchased this set and found it to be much better quality for the money. I have had Sonor and played on Yamaha but this is a great sound, looks much more expensive than it was. As usual it took some time to tune and now it's great. Thanks Ludwig for a product that is well made and affordable. I bought the the blue ice and it is beautiful.Buy it and enjoy
Recently acquired the Ludwig Accent CS Custom Elite Power 5-Piece Blue Ice Glitter Drum Set and I was surprised by it's value and quality. The set looks great under lights, is easy to set up and, when tuned properly, sounds great right out of the box.I play pop rock dance music with this kit tuned bright with the original heads in two distinct settings: acoustically in small venues and fully mic-ed with Sennheiser e604's and an Audix D6 in large/outdoor venues. It sounds great in both.I have three 70's-era Ludwig Vistalite Drum Sets with Atlas Stands and SpeedKing Pedals. The older hardware is a bit more durable, as is the outstanding hardware with my 2004 Yamaha Beech Custom Absolute Drum Set, but the Ludwig Accent kit was much less expensive. With proper care and adjustment, the Accent hardware will last a lifetime. This set is a great value and its performance is equal to sets costing 2 or 3 times more.
i bought this drum set about a 2 years ago and it is still amazing me , the tone of the toms is just perfect for the music i play , and the snare , the snare has the deepest tone , people always compliment on my snare. this is the perfect drum set for anybody.
I bought this set about a year ago. It was the first ludwig set that I have ever bought. I have had two cb sets(not worthe it) A yahmaha fusion set. I have to say that the bass drum on this set is so deep and so loud it sounds like a cannon. The snare is matching and it soudns great. I would change all the factory heads that they give you if your going to be playing a gig, they tend to ring a little bit. Also if your order from ludwig you can get custom colors I got an all natural wood finish which I think that they just didnt wrap it, but it was beautiful. It sounds great acoustic or micd.
All I can say is after 18 months of hard playing, no complaints and they sound better than I actually thought, now that I've heard them recorded. This is a industrial strength pro kit. Ludwig knows it but can't figure out how to position it (CS = china series) against their high price USA Drums. The finish is exceptional, the birch shells just keep sounding better and the hardware is beyond heavy duty. To Heavy! The only point of failure has been the Ludwig Speed king USA pedal I purchased for the other bass. Not the same quality as the pre-1980 pedal. The attention to detail is incredible right down to the hand signed QA stickers in each drum. This is one of the purchases I made and keep saying to myself, "I cannot believe what I got for the price....how did they do that?"
From the moment you start putting this kit together you know you are dealing with a quality product. Attention to detail is spectacular both in engineering, construction and materials. Then, as you get the drums tuned you know you are hearing the sound of a solid pro kit. The Kick pedal is a not as responsive as many of the high end pedals but this will not be a problem when properly adjusted. I own the silver glitter power set and enjoy the accolades of admiring aficionados. This is not a beginner set and should be paired with decent cymbals.
This is the third Ludwig purchase for our family, and I must say it's the best Ludwig yet. The Cherry Glitter Ludwig five piece set is incredible. All the hardware was fine, nice chrome job, heavy bracing and castings, good smooth wingnut type knobs on everything. Other attachments use the key which is included.Of course, the drums need the tone rings applied to the top surfaces to improve sound. The only negative was the Bass drum plywood rings appeared to be a bit chippy along the edges, a little better surfacing of the edges would be nice, but that is a small thing. The drums came well packed, and were undamaged, but the boxes suffered horribly and it looked like we just might have damage, but there was none.We went for the Planet Z four pack cymbals and they are sufficient for a young player of fourteen, just learning the ropes. She was blown away by their beauty and impressive looks.
I got this set about a week ago. They are very high quality, the hardware is awesome. I dont really care for the vibramount things cuz there a bit hard to position alone. The only thing missing is a seat. I bought these drums as a first set but its not a beginner set. I am amazed with the sound. The color is awesome. Its not quite as blue in real life as in the picture though. But there still amazing looking when you shine lights on them.
