I'm in a hard rocking band and this kit definitely gives me the sound and quality I need, even though i beat the CRAP out of it all the time.
This is a good starter set, i've been playing for longer than 6 years now and i think this set sounds amazing. Even the stock heads are more decent than most. These drums have a hard rock look and feel they are great sounding and looking, a great buy.
This set is awesome. It looks great and sounds even better. You can tune them as low or high as you want, and they pack a punch. I recommend this set to anyone who wants something that looks great, sounds great, and that's cheap.
this set rocks. i beat this thing to death sometimes, just rockin' out on it during practice, with my band, and it can definitely handle it. it stays in tune, and stays in one piece! it sounds great, and was affordable for the amount of perfection that i got.
I just bought the standard Mapex Pro M the other day, and I can't believe what I got for the price. Of course, you've got to replace the stock heads. I put white coated aquarians on the toms, which really add flavor to the already great sound quality. I put white coated medium attack heads on my snare (Remo Ambassadors would sound great too), and an aquarian on the kick. Along with a Pacific 602 double-bass pedal, the set is really rockin. Recommended heavily.
very nice hardware for the price. more than what you pay for really. sound is very tight.I think this kit can fit many styles.the snare tunes nicely, if you like a deep sound or high/tight sound, both work.toms sound really nice. If you tune well, this set is great. I am still trying to make the bass sound tougher. It is a little dead. The set looks amazing, sounds great and not too big for traveling/storing. Set up and take down are fast and a cinch with the incredible hardwear.Really nice, love the floor tom.
I used to think that Pearl was the only good drum set until a Mapex fell into my hands. Mapex is the best drum company out there!!
