Meinl

A distinctly focused and sustaining cymbal effect.

The Meinl Classics Bell Cymbal has a very long sustain and a dry, pingy, brilliant stick response.

Meinl's Classics series is made in Germany using B8 bronze alloy. These cymbals have an explosive modern sound . . . lots of attack and a moderate decay. They are perfect for adding onto your existing setup since they blend so well with almost any other cymbal. With a huge selection of sizes and styles you can find a cymbal that is just what you need without breaking the bank. Good for rock, country, pop and metal.

Special Effects

This is a “special effects” cymbal right? Which by definition means you are NOT going to play on it ALL night long. In fact if you play it on more than 3 songs a set you are probably over using it. Kind of like a China cymbal, cow bell or jam block. Remember: it is a “special effects” cymbal. It goes “ding, ding, ding” which is loud like a bell and cutting and rings a long time. I suspect many of the other bell cymbals out there probably do the same thing. I don’t care and can’t comment on those other brands. I am not going to pay big bucks to find out.  What’s the point? When it comes to “special effects” cymbals this cymbal suits my needs perfectly.  Now keep in mind that I am an “old guy” who doesn’t play anything with “Metal, Death, or Mega” in the titles of my musical styles. However, I am not going to pay a whole bunch of money for a “special effects” cymbal. Again it goes ding, ding, ding and sustains for a long time which is exactly what bell cymbals are supposed to do – aren’t they?  Just buy this cymbal because of the price and quality. Save your money for a really good pair of hi hats – ride – or crash cymbal. Those you will play ALL night long on every song on every set.

Features:

This bell is pretty awesome.

  • Has a loud attack
  • Medium sustain
  • Can take a beating
Quality:

Has the Meinl quality that you can trust.

Value:

I was  surprised this cymbal was such a great price.  It is worth every bit of it.

Overall:

In all, this price, for an awesome cymbal is a no-brainer. Using it as an accent is where it is best suited I belive. I am recommending this bell to anyone looking for one, I think it is the best out there at the moment. You can mount it on top of another cymbal if needed also (If you don't have enough money for another stand. ) Besides Chris Adler plays this cymbal.

I can't wait to get my own. All three sizes have a lot of sustain but when it comes to performing with a group it's not a problem. They sound more musical than other bells I've played. They're much better than the clunky sounding zil-bells. And these are half the price of others. It's a win-win situation!

this bell is amazing, sounds infinitely better than a zil bell, and is half the price, this thing may seem it rings for too long but in the mix its perfect, i was jamming yesterday and hit it, it cut through what i was playing and the 2 guitarists using lots of distortion, this thing is much better and cheaper than a zil bell and could be used as a mini hi hat with an 8" splash

This cymbal is great for metal, hardcore, and anything of that sort. it cuts through my meinl byzance crash, Sabian AA crash, and even my 20" Meinl MB20 China. It's much better than a zil-bel or alu bell. and it's half the price. i highly recommend it.
