With technically advanced lathing and an improved bell design.

The Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China contains 14" medium hi-hats, a 16" medium crash, a 20" medium ride, plus a FREE Filter China. These Meinl cymbals are all specially harmonically matched for the most musical sound.

Created with the B8 alloy of 92 percent copper, 8 percent tin (plus traces of silver) for bright, rich, laser-clear sound quality.

The Free 14" Filter China cymbal provides a fast, sharp, and almost sinister sound. Quieter than most China cymbals, it has a short sustain due to the waved edge.

Most remarkably, its look is achieved by a capillary fine lathing process that sets the bell apart from the rest of the cymbal's surface. This highly technical lathing process results in a clearer and more projecting bell sound.

A deep lathing groove is applied on to the cymbal's surface, remarkably reducing its thickness and weight. This results in a quicker response that enables the sound to unfold much easier. Along with precise hammering patterns, the new Meinl MCS cymbals set the standard in this price range.

Features

  • 20" medium ride
  • 14" medium hi-hats
  • 16" medium crash

They're harmonically matched and ready to rock right out of the box. Get the Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack delivered to your door today!

Overall these cymbals are very well built with a dirt cheap price. These make good cymbals for beginners and more experienced players. I highly recommend this to any person looking for great cymbals for a low price. These cymbals are also very universal in music styles. You can play the hardcore drumming of metal to the soft sounds of jazz.
These cymbals have great features. The bells on all the cymbals are clean and bright. These definitely beat most sabian and zildjian cymbals.
These cymbals sound a lot better than the price. I felt worried buying these cymbals at first because they were so cheap. Honestly these are the best cymbals I have ever played on. The only thing that could have been improved is the ride. The ride had a great tone and pitch, but it was not as clear sounding as I wished. Overall these are exellent cymbals.
The value is the best money can buy. You get a very great sounding cymbal set These are worth at least
$200 more than what you pay for them.

Looking for a second set of cymbals I stumbled over the the usual suspects such as Zildjian ZBTs, Sabian B8's and Paiste 101's. However when a friend told me about Meinl I decided to give them a chance. So I scouted out the MCS series and purchased them. After recieving them I Absolutely fell in love with them ,and here's why.The hihats have the perfect amount of stick and chick sounds plus they have a jazzy wash. The Crash was absolutely Explosive. And the ride when used with 7A's provide a quite jazz sound But if you wanna Thrash pull your 2b's and it Opens up as in a full out rock ride. The 14" china really is epic and is a great accent cymbal. All together this set has increadible value and if given the choice I would buy it all over again.PS:The hihats came in the mail slightly warped. If you bend in to perfection it will have an incredible washy attack.

Two thumbs up

Comments about Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China:

If your a beginner I highly reccomend these, I had these when I was first starting out and they met my expectaions, especially the Thomas Lang Filter china (which I still use). The only thing I didnt like about these cymbals were the Hi-Hats, they didnt sound as quality. Ive moved up from all these cymbals straight to the Byzance Brilliant (which I also Highly reccomend) !

Best for the prce

Comments about Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China:

These cymbals really do sound like more expensive ones. The high hats are not quite my sound, but they will do, the rest are way better than I expected for the price.

I got these cymbals as an upgrade from my stock cymbals, and when I play shows, people tell me how great the cymbals sound. These cymbals sound better than the price on it, that's for sure.

not bad at all!!!

Comments about Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China:

I bought these cymbals based on the reviews on this website, overall these are very nice for the price. The hats sound good open, but closed they sound like a tin can or something. The 16 inch the "worst" one of them all but still not to bad. Two thumbs up for the 20 inch ride, now the filter china is very interesting. Its very crashy sounding with a bit of sizzle but not explosive in anyway, I like to crash on it more than the 16 inch.Overall I would recommend these for any poor drummers out there

Great Set, With Great Cymbals

By NateC

Comments about Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China:

I have been seriously playing drums for about 4 years now, and it's literally all I do, so I wanted some nice cymbals for my new Ludwig set. I got these for Christmas and I am very impressed. Crash: Very fast, cutting sound. Good overall crash.Ride:Ok, kinda pingy, but it does It's job. Probably my least favorite, but it's still a good cymbal.Filter China: Very interesting, and sizzling sound. GREAT for fill accents. Would not ride on it though, since it's quite thin, and the bumpy edges mess up your sticks. But not horribly bad.Hi-Hats:Overall the best part. My music style doesn't make much use of hi-hats but these are stellar. Nice chick, bit of good wash when played open, but not over-bearing, annoying wash.As I said, amazing cymbal set. Meinl has sold me, I'm sticking with them.

Meinl

Comments about Meinl MCS Cymbal Pack with Free Filter China:

I got these cymbals from one of my friends, who was going to be a drummer, but instead he didn't use his set at all, so these cymbals sat in his room forever! It was until recently I decided to play the drums, and I'm pretty good for a beginner, that I got these cymbals. These cymbals go along great with Metal/Hard Rock songs, but as I noticed today I didn't think they were really Death Metal style. I don't know what it is about them, or maybe it's just me being to picky, and liking Sabin AA cymbals, because I have heard them for so long, and that's what 99% Death metal drummers use. These cymbals will be great if you're looking to play hard rock, or just regular metal. But if you're wanting to play Death Metal, I'd advise getting the Sabin AA cymbals. That's what I'm doing. I'm just going to hold onto these when I play hard rock songs. And with all of my Death metal songs I'm going to just use Sabins. These will work for now though, until I can save up enough money for Sabins.
