OVERVIEW

A more practical design.

Standard rainmakers are usually tubes that you tip one way and then the other. The Meinl Rainmaker is circular in shape and can be easily mounted to a cymbal stand. By simply turning the instrument using the protruding handle, you can make a continuous drizzle or a monsoon downpour. The durable body is made of high-grade fiberglass and produces a very loud effect.

FEATURES
  • Circular shape
  • Mounts to a cymbal stand
  • Turning the handle makes a continuous rain sound
  • Made of durable high-grade fiberglass

Comments about Meinl Stand Mountable Rainmaker:

I bought this rainmaker since I do a lot of auxiliary percussion in a Brazilian trio. Think Airto Moreira. This is a great alternative to the traditional rain sticks. This is very easy to handle as I can easily turn the rainmaker as I am seated behind a drum set and don't have to worry about turning a rain stick up side down. The only down side to this product is the shear weight of it. I find this rainmaker to be a bit heavy and would like a lighter version to be made (if possible). I use DW flat base cymbal stands, but for this rainmaker I decided to use a heavy duty Pearl C1030 straight cymbal stand. I do think that this will work on a single braced cymbal stand too and will try that in the future, but I wouldn't try it with my flat base stands. For everyone that is having trouble with wing nuts becoming loose while using this rainmaker, I suggest the Pearl Quick Release WingLoc. I normally do not care for these locks on cymbals, but this wingloc works perfectly on the rainmaker and will not come loose while turning the rainmaker.

Rainmaker

By Mr Drum mond

Comments about Meinl Stand Mountable Rainmaker:

The product looks very nice, but it's extremely heavey and pulls over cymbal stands. Mounting is very much a joke. It sits very sloppy on the stand and turning losens or tights the cymbal nut. Don't waste your money!

This is a very good thing to have for all live musicians, but certainly a little much for this, none the less a good value

Rain Maker

By RRConga

from Florida

Comments about Meinl Stand Mountable Rainmaker:

Instrument is far to heavy! I have it on a heavy double leg stand and it tips over while turning the rain maker. The only feature which is positive its the loudness. I have kept it but it required many modifications, the handle needs to turn freely and the wing nut tightens on the stand as you turn it. The quality of the paint job is very poor, there are drip marks and areas that were touched up with a brush. The instrument is much larger than it needs to be. I was dissapointed with the overal design.
