Bonzo's classic cymbal configuration with a bag and Zep DVD.

This cymbal pack replicates John Bonham's cymbal setup with five Paiste 2002 cymbals, plus a Paiste cymbal bag and Jeff Ocheltree DVD. Made with CuSn8 bronze for a bright, warm, and energetic tone, these cymbals are great for live and studio gigs requiring high energy and the utmost in precision and musicality. The pack consists of a general purpose 24" ride cymbal, the classic 15" Sound Edge hi-hats with a rippled bottom for very clear projection, a versatile 18" crash, a lively 18" medium crash, a 24" cymbal bag, and a Trust Your Ears: The Drum Tech Explorations of Jeff Ocheltree DVD.

The 24" Paiste 2002 Ride is a versatile ride with a penetrating ping and a warm, lively overall sound. This works well for light to medium volume situations. It has a strong bell and wide frequency range. This is the cymbal to nail the classic rock ride sound heard on records since the '60s.

The 15" Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hat pair is a classic. The unique rippled bottom prevents air lock, giving an overall sharp "chick" and splashy open sound with very clear cutting projection.

The 18" Paiste 2002 Crash is effective for multiple music applications. Bright and explosive with a warm shimmer that carries well. Very dynamic and full-bodied, with immediate response. Washy stick sound with lively intensity and medium sustain. A good all-purpose crash.

The responsive 18" Paiste 2002 Medium Crash is a bit heavier than the Paiste 2002 Crash. The Medium Crash is very balanced, full, and rich sounding. It projects a nice ride sound in larger venues. Very versatile and works well with louder playing.

The durable Paiste cymbal bag features backpack-style shoulder straps as well as a single shoulder strap for comfortable carrying however it works for you. Vinyl internal dividers separate cymbals to minimize metal-to-metal contact. The rounded front pouch holds cymbals up to 16" or other percussion accessories. Backpack case fits cymbals up to 24".

Jeff Ocheltree transitioned from replaceable roadie to invaluable drum tech by being the first person to take complete care of all aspects of the drums, in the glory days of such legends as Bonham and Cobham. In Trust Your Ears: The Drum Tech Explorations of Jeff Ocheltree DVD, Jeff's first instructional DVD, he discusses his experiences and teaches techniques valuable to drum techs and all drummers — with hands-on examples using 9 different kits and 9 drummers. Jeff also discusses the unique bronze drums he makes from recycled cymbals. As a special bonus, John Bonham's kit used in Zeppelin recordings appears on-screen for the first time ever, and Bonzo's settings, tunings, and mic placements are revealed! 60 minutes.

I own and have played most every cymbal there is out there. I have zildjans that date back to the 60's. In my humble opinion there are no finer cymbals on earth than the 2002's. I first got my paiste 2002's back in 1983. I still have and use all of them. 14'' sound edge, 16 and 18 medium crashes, 20'' crash ride (which is thunderous)
and a 22'' ride. I also have an 18'' china which sounds great (though I favor my 20'' wuhan). I just wanted to point out that this is a great deal for cymbals that you will be playing (and enjoying) for a long time to come.

I'm sure that these a good cymbals, no doubt about it but why pay so much for it. the only reason to get this pack is if you own one of the Bonham replica sets and want it to be exactly like his. other than that, its just a way for paiste to make money. they're saying, "hey look, Ludwig is making a lot of money off of Bonham. we too could do this." i love Bonham but not enough to get every cymbal he had. this set doesn't even come with the china he used.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

I own a 2002 22" black label ride, 14" black label hats, two crashes, and a splash. These cymbals are the bomb, and I've always loved them. They are DEFINITELY the ones Bonham used. He used these and the same sizes in Giant Beats. I think Paiste would know.

        I did the Math-It doesn't lie

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

Every Cymbal company has their High end and low end metal works. Fact is the Paiste 2002 series along with many other Paiste line Cymbals were and still are certainly good enough for guys like Frank Beard,Ian Paice,Alex Van Halen and Bonham. Seriously,if someone is breaking them all within a gig perhaps we better review how were striking them....or something "?" Once I saw Tommy Aldridge at a clinic strike a Zildjian with his Fist and it did tear out the center at the Bell of that Cymbal.Tommy didn't realize it until later. These things can happen with any metal. I have used Paiste for 7 years and this Bonham pack is AAA+! The 24" 2002 ride is superb! Just listen to Alex Halen on #1st album. I have Paiste Signature series,Rude and Inovation and my favorites are the 2002's!! Sometimes the tools being used are no better than the person using them.

        Paiste Sound !!

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

I didn't buy the John Bonham Pack. Because there were Cymbals in it I didn't need. So I did buy the 24" Ride and Certain 2002 Crashes seperate. I already have "Sound Edge Signature Hihats in 13,14 and 15" sizes. I have a Bonham Amber Vistalite and I also have a Yamaha Maple Custom Absoulute with two 24" kicks. So.. I sort of use what ever I will need for a certain situation. My Point is this.. I could have gone with any Cymbals I wanted. At the Music store I would take a drum stick and hit a few Cymbals and always the Paistes I liked according to my personal ear. Then you look at the price tag and you see why it attracted me the way it did. I think Paiste makes the very best Cymbals in the world. I spend more on Cymbals than I do on Drums. I have quite an arrangement. "All Paiste" And that Amber Vistalite kit,... I use it for a Big band Jazz kit as well...I have a 22" Paiste 2002 Power Ride and a 2002 24" Ride. I have no complaints about either one. Their really no better than the guy who is hitting it.

I have a 2002 22 ride and the 14 SE hats and I love them. These cymblas sound good for Rock, Funk, Country, you name it. Top of the line but well worth the price.

        Glassy shimmer.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

Okay, yes they are pricey. But in my opinion worth it. They sound fantastic, period. Add to that, that they are some of the most beautiful cymbals on earth. Think about it Bonham switched from giant beat to 2002. He never went back... could've but didn't. I plan on playing for a long time yet... so to me it is worth it. You can put good heads on mediocre drums and make them sound pretty good... with cymbals, what you get is what you get. These are some of the best you can buy. I have the 15" hats, 16" and 18" crashes and a 22" ride and I love them.

        These Things Rock!

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

I have been playing on my 2002's since the late 80's. I've played them HARD! I have yet to crack one! Now I have a lot of other cymbals as well (Sabian, Wuhan, Zildjian) and prefer my Zildjian hats to my sound edges, but these have withstood the test of time and I'm about to purchase another set for my backup kit and ditch the rest. Even though they are pricey they have stood up well for me!

        Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack

        By Cuac-Man

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

These might be the best cymbals in the market, but you shouldn't but them only because bonham used them. But if there was a Giant Beat Pack "That Bonham Used", I would definitly buy it. Period

Comments about Paiste 2002 Bonham Cymbal Pack:

I am reviewing these cymbals as cymbals, not a Bonham replica setup. Do not listen to all those Sabian and Zildjian fans whining about Paiste. I don't know how their reviews were approved. These cymbals sounds great, and I mean really great. A bit pricy but they are top end.
