I got these as my first upgrade for symbols and I couldn't be happier. Excellent chink when closed, Sounds almost like a symbol when open, and is very good for it's affordable price.
These were my first upgrade for cymbals. When they are closed they have a very nice chick sound. My only complaint is when they are open they dont have a very long sizzling sound. It might just be my stand because its just the stand that came with my set but over all it is definately worth your money.
Wow, for the price even here these are great, they have a defined chick while closed and a nice short ring while open. Every once in a while they get some marks on it but I take them off with chrome polish, nice finish, BUY EM!
I got these when I broke my last set of Hi-Hats. (dont ask) They have a very tight chick sound and a very smooth decay when they are open.I recomend these to anyone who needs a great Hi-Hat for a great price.
I bought the 13" pair, to get that defined chick you can usually get from smaller hats. the closed chick cuts throught everything. I'm one of those drummers that swears by Single mic recording, and these hats cut (closed) through the mix very well; even through the ring of my 19" crashes. However, playing lightly on the hats open sounds just trashy. I later found out that the harder you play them, the better they sound. You can get a good washy sound when you really lay into them. all in all, i would say it's a pretty good job on paiste's part.
Fit into my style of play perfectly. I play as a percussionist/drummer for a virtually all acoustic band and these hi-hats are just "loud" enough.Great sound for a very reasonable price, excellent tone and "chick" sound, I am very satisfied with them
I've been very pleased with Paiste cymbals as I own a couple. These hats are nice . While they are nice and sound good they have a little of a thick sound to them for the Jazz and funk I play sometimes. they work nicely for rock and alternative. I think I will try the 802 plus as they are thinner or the PST 3 as they are brass to see if the give me a lighter hiss sound. Overall I am very happy with them especially the value
