Paiste

Get the power and cut you need with these brilliant hi-hats.

The character of Paiste's Alpha Metal Edge Hi-Hats is bright, metallic, cutting, roaring, and silvery. These hi-hat cymbals have a wide range, fairly clean mix, strong feel, and extremely quick response. Their loud attacking open sound paired with a super-strong and powerful piercing chick-sound cuts through any aggressive music in today's metal styles. The wavy bottom cymbal prevents air lock and allows a bigger sound.

Paiste Alpha cymbals were first launched in 1992. Today, the Alpha brand is synonymous with dependability, and the cymbals are well known for their first-class sound and fair prices. The Alpha Series is now available in a Brilliant Finish, once again advancing these trusted qualities.

The brilliant look of these Paiste Alpha Metal hi-hat cymbals is accomplished by skilled craftsmen who hand polish the cymbals to a mirror perfect finish in the final production stage. Prior to that, top-notch hi-tech processes give these Alpha cymbals their initial shape and strength. They are further enhanced by traditional hand-hammering.

Alpha cymbals have become very popular among professional artists, especially in rock and metal. Working with such drummers, Paiste developed new models to expand the arsenal available for players in these genres.

Alpha cymbals have developed a strong following in recent years and are today endorsed by numerous working drummers all over the world, such as Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch, Jason Sutter with Chris Cornell, Dave Witte of Municipal Waste, Tommy Portimo of Sonata Arctica, and Steven Spence of Black Tide.

Features:

I had these for a couple of days. I thought of maybe pairing the bottom with a lighter top, and that was so-so. If I were to play hard rock exclusively, I would have kept them. But since I play blues, as well, these went back.

Quality:

Like all Paiste products, these are top-notch!

Value:

Alphas are great  value!!!

Overall:

These are just not all that versatile, but if I played metal, I'd keep them.
