I recieved these cymbols today. At first I was estremely excited and I couln't wait to start playing them. But my excitement soon died after I started playing them. I have been playing drums for about a year and I have always played Sabian B8. I busted my crash so I decided to try some new cymbols. I shopped for a month looking for the perfect cymbol. I was about to buy a different set when I came upon the Paiste PST3. I thought it was an amazing deal. I ordered them and expected to recieve awesome cymbols. When I pulled they out of the box I noticed that the crash cymbol was heavier than expected. I put it on the stand and struck it hard with my drumstick. There was a dead thump with horrible overtones. I set it up with my drum set and started playing but that didn't help. The crash has no sound AT ALL! and definately no good overtones. The only sound I could get to come out of the cymbol was a thick thump and the harder I hit the worse the sound. The hi-hats sound good. They have a tight, clinky sound when closed and a sharp sound when open. The hi-hats are a good deal. The ride is a little better. The bell isn't very loud though and it takes a long time for the cymbol to "die off" until it is silent. But the crash is the worst. I would recomend the PST 5 or the Alpha if you want to stick with Paiste. I will definately be returning these cymbols and upgrading to a non-beginers set. Unless you are a beginner or have absolutely no money to spend on a nicer set, stay away from these cymbols.

This is a cymbal that I think must have been made for beginners. It is in the middle of Meinl HCS and Sabian B8. It isn't as good as Sabian B8, but better for the money than Meinl HCS. I am an intermediate player and I think this is more of a cymbal for beginner-intermediate players. I recommend for players my level either Sabian B8 or Ziljian A or ZBT. Ok, the ride sounds pretty bad, but the bell is decent... the crash has good sustain, but no pop if you know what I mean... and the hi-hat, wow this hi-hat is REALLY GOOD. If you are going to buy this, instead buy a Sabian B8 20" Ride, a B8 16" crash, and this hi-hat. The hi-hat is really washy and explosive. Really bright and shimmery. Its great!

A good buy for borderline intermediates/beginners.

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Universal Set 14/16/20:

These cymbals are the real deal for a beginner or a border-line intermediate. The hats have a mediocre "chick" and "half-open closed" play to it but have some of the best sizzles I have ever felt on its beginner level. The crash has little to none sustain, a terrible tone, and is extremely heavy. The ride is excellent, it has a nice ping and the bell is top notch for once again a beginner cymbal. If you're in need for a quick replacement or you're an inspiring beginning drummer, then this package is for you. If you have the extra cash go with the higher-end Paiste's or some Sabians and Zildjians.

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Universal Set 14/16/20:

So, I have a pretty crappy drum set but I'm making it work while I save up for a new Pearl. But a must have was new cymbals. So I got these for my birthday and overall they are great cymbals that really brought my set to life. When I first took 'em out of the box they were beautiful. The crash and hats picked up marks but nothing big. I have had them for about 8 months and they still sound great. The crash has a really nice sustain and a bright punch. it could have a little more kick to it, but its definately not bad. the ride is awesome. Its really heavy and solid but it has a bright, crisp, cutting sound to it. The bell's not bad either. The hats are great too. Closed they have a real nice chick. They also work really well washy or open. Overall, great cymbals, good price, buy them!

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Universal Set 14/16/20:

I needed a new set of cybals to brighten up my drum kit, so I got these cymbals as I got a good deal on them, and I definitely don't regret it. They are really good for someone of intermediate skill, like me, and are perfect if your starting out gigging, and just using in practice. The bell on the ride is superb, the crash has a great sustain, and the high hats are excellent, especially for the price I got them. Highly recommended

I just bought these to replace my stock cymbals, and overall I'm pretty impressed. They were nice and shiny, and looked beautiful. First off, the hats are decent. When closed, they don't have much character but they sound great when opened slightly. The crash is so-so. 16 in. are just too bright for me. And finally, the ride is great. It sounds beautiful and looks beautiful. I would recommend getting them if you don't mind the less than amazing hi-hats.

These are good cymbals. I bought them as a set of cymbals to just bang on. They did a lot better than I thought they would. They sound almost as good as my Zildjian a custom cymbals. I would recommend them to beginners though.

I ove these cybals. Great practice cybals for the price!!!! I swiched from zilidjan ZBT to these and it was just 10 times better. Buy these!!!!
I love the cymbal stand it comes with!!! Perfect Tohold your ride cymbal! There are to many great features, I cant tell you all, but the ride has a really nice bell as well as all the other cymbals.
Best cymbals I've used for a long time. I only use this to practice, and paiste alphas to performe. But these are still great!!!
I rate this a 10 beacause of how its made with care, not just random brass throne into a machine!

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Universal Set 14/16/20:

I've been playing guitar for almost 11 years and drums for about 7. My drummer bought the PST 3 crash cymbal practically brand new from a friend. No dings, cymbal was in awesome condition. I've always thought as paiste as the best cymbals out there and this is no exception. Cymbal sounds great for all styles, even my beloved heavy metal. It had a great decay and the bell sounds gooooood!! Oh and the cymbal is thick but not sooo thick that it takes away anything. I plan on buying this pack myself to use for the band and for my practice kit.

These cymbals are amazing. I got them yesterday, and I was very impressed with the hot looks and the sound. They are very cheap in price, but the quality is almost worth a $200-400 dollar cymbal pack. Don't listen to anyone esle if they say something bad about these cymbals. I f they do say something bad they either suck at life, or don't know a thing about drumming. One of the coolest things about this pack is that the ride cymbal sounds so good. I t doesn't ring to long, but it has some sustain to it. BUY THESE!

I'm suprised. I've been playing Sabian and Zildjian for as long as i've been drumming which is 8 years and I was so stupid to never try Paiste. Paiste cymbals are just as good if not better then Sabian and Zildjian cheaper cymbals. I can't judge on the more expensive ones though. However I will say each of these cymbals has a nice crisp sound they all sound like what you would expect a hi-hat, crash, or ride cymbal to sound like.

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Universal Set 14/16/20:

I spent the majority of my taxes on my PDP. Had little cash left for cymbals but need some. I was always a die hard Zildjian fan but thought i'de give Paiste a try. (never liked Sabian) I figured what better way to try out a new company (for me that is) then to spend little on they're product that way if I didn't like them I wasn't out a house payment! First the dislikes! the 16....HATE it. It is the worst crash I have ever heard. No projection, no sustain, no color! Crap!! I've heard cooking lids that sounded better! Now for the likes!! The Hi-Hats are awesome!! Great chick, great sizzle, I love playing them closed w/ a real funky bounce type roll pattern. The barks are cutting and in your face! The ride sounds wonderful also. The bell is a little hard to get some volume out of but it's still a great cymbal. I will continue to explore the Paiste lines, and I am offically saying good by to zildjian!

Comments about Paiste PST 3 Universal Set 14/16/20:

I recently got these cymbals to go with my new Mapex M birch 6 piece with a free 8" tom and also a Roc-N-Soc throne to complete the deal. Firstly, they are all nice and shiny. The high hats are bright and sound satisfying when slightly opened. the crash and the crash/ride sound okay. The bell on both of them sound clean and a nice high ring. They are not the best thing on the market, but would satisfy many listening ears. Every man should be their own judge...for one man's gold is someone's garbage. For the price on these bad boys I think you would be getting your money's worth and then some. If you are on a budget, these are the ones you need to keep you happy temporarily. But if you have a big budget to work with, there are better sounding cymbals out there. Bless UP!!

got these on my last b-day. opened em up and went to town playing on them. the hats sound good. the chik is a little weak, sizzle is great tho, hard to get a clear splash out of them in a complex fast beat. the crash sounds ok but its delicate. I broke it about a month after. the ride gets the job done, not very long sustain, but nice dark/warm tone and the bell is great. rings out good.

I have a first act drumset. Which is the Worst drumset on the market. I needed new cymbals so I got these. They Sound Amazing. The Ride is the best. It rings a sound that is perfect. The Crash is good but it sound like a ride cymbal. And the High hats are very muted when closed. But they still sound amazing. If you are looking for high hats on a thin wallet. I'd defiantly get these.
