Comments about Pearl Boom Box Cajon:

I love that people leave a completely useless review about a product because of the packaging and nothing to do with the products sound and function. This is an outstanding product that sounds great. 5 stars without a doubt!

Comments about Pearl Boom Box Cajon:

I use it as my band's primary percussion source as we are a 3 piece, 2 guitars, with male and double female vocals playing unplugged covers of 60's, 70's, 80's, country, alt rock and grunge...It has such a great sound for ALL these genres. Nice high snare hits and HUGE deep bass, it's lightweight and goes anywhere....I recommend adding a small 13" splash cymbal on a stand. GET THIS CAJON!!!!!

Comments about Pearl Boom Box Cajon:

For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a better cajon. The snare sound is incredible. I expected a little more from the low end, but it's not bad. If you look at any other cajon in this price range, you're going to get a really flat bass sound (which this doesn't have) and an iffy snare sound. Overall, if you're looking at picking up a cajon without dishing out a ton of money, go with this one. You'll be happy you did.

          Pearl Boom Box

Comments about Pearl Boom Box Cajon:

Overall, I'm happy with my choice. Try it You'll like it!
You get what you pay for. The Cajon that I really wanted was all wood and just drop dead gorgeous, but it was $750.00 US Dollars. Life is Choices and I didn't want to spend that much. After reading the reviews, I decided to give the Pearl Boom Box a try. I'm glad I did. It's amazing! It is extremely easy to play and make sound GOOD! Absolutely worth the investment!
The quality is good. It's not wood and I'm not sure what I was expecting. It took me a lttle while to get used to the looks. If you have a chance to see it and play it before you buy it, then you'll understand.
There are alot of choices in this price range. This is a great choice for the money.

It looks great & very durable finish!!

          Killer bass

          By Richard Byrne

          from New York

Comments about Pearl Boom Box Cajon:

Amazing bass, tight snare sound. I'm not crazy over the finish (painted to look like wood) but the sounds more than makes up for it. Typically you'd need to mic the front for the snare and the port for the bass but this thing just oozes bass - I use a cheap AT2035 in the front about a foot from the face and that's all you need. I tried a D112 on the bass port and it was actually too much bass! Wasn't crazy (at first) about a fiberglass cajon but having owned a Pearl signature model (which I returned for the boom box) and tried a couple Meinl's this was the winner for my price range.
I know there's a degree of craft in building these but it's a box with some snares in it - what makes this one different is the fiberglass construction and the bass port - sets it apart.
Overall it's solid, but the finish is terrible - just my opinion - it's not wood, no need to make it look like it - some cool solid colors would have been really nice.
I have a hard time spending a lot on a wooden box, but after you play it and compare it with some of the cheaper ones out there, you soon get over it.
