        Comments about Pearl Jingle Cajon:

This is a good investment, for the money spent. I haven't work with this style, for many years, and this is a perfect instrument to get my "chops" back. I added a LP pad and am using it my drum throne, with a praise band. It gives a nice added dimension, especially in some of the acoustic numbers. It has a solid bass and a pretty good snap, on the high end. I suppose that will get better as I get better, but it's okay to experiment with the snares, inside the box. Pulling a few away, just a little bit will change the snare effect. I like the tambourine jingle, but haven't found a song that compliments the other jingle. yet.

          More snare than usual

          By Ben Jacobeen

          from Virginia

          Comments about Pearl Jingle Cajon:

I really enjoyed this drum from Pearl. THe quality is wonderful but there are a few drawbacks. THe snare is very responsive and at times a little too much it interferes with the bass boom, but you van still tell the bass is being played. Overall it has a great sound and the jingles are great. THey blend well with the sound of the drum. I am very happy I purchased this drum. If you want a versitles instrument with a range of sound this is a great product to buy.
THe added jingles actually are a grreat innovation in Cajon's. Pearl has done a great job finding new ways to recreat classic instruments. I really enjoy this cajon.
THe drum is well made but the feel of fiberglass is different but is dosen't seem to drawback any of the sound quality you expect from Pearl. The front wood is well made and durable.

This is a versatile Cajon with great sound

          Comments about Pearl Jingle Cajon:

n First, you should know that I bought the Fat Cajon after I had compared it about 6 to 7 other Cajons that were at a store, but not the Pearl Cajon. I felt that the Fat Cajon was built better and had a deeper bass response, and overall sounded better. Well two years later, I found the Pearl Jingle Cajon and was blown away by all the different sounds it could make. The two types of jingles really spiced up my sound. It added another layer on top of the strings/snare sound. The Fat Cajon uses guitar strings for the snare sound and the Pearl uses half of a snare, the same used in a snare drum. They both sound close but slightly different. As a hand percussionist, I really hate finding something that I like a lot after I already have the same instrument. Hence, I have 8 congas, 5 djembes 8 frame drums and so on. I only buy something that I already have, only if it speaks to me, calls out my name and says you should not leave without me. I thought I was alone in that thought until I spoke to my other hand percussion friends. So this is normal behavior and not abnormal for those of us hand percussionist. By the way, I now play them together, so I have the best of both sounds. I only wish that the Pearl Jingle Cajon had a fast acting mechanism to activate and deactivate the jingles instead of the knob turning. It would allow you to be more creative in your playing style.
          The jigles are great.
Be careful or because the jingles break off if you are not.
I think that this being a fibre glass cajon is a plus not a minus. I will probably last longer and will not be affected by the humidity.

          I'll pass

          Comments about Pearl Jingle Cajon:

I was really excited to try one of these but ended up being disappointed. First, they are an ergonomic disaster. My back started hurting after about 10 minutes, its just not a natural position. I wasn't impressed by the sound either, not a lot of bottom, weak snare, and the jingles are CHEAP. I examined it pretty closely and I'm sure I could make a better one myself.

          Great Versatile Sound.

          Comments about Pearl Jingle Cajon:

Ok I have both the Meinl Makah Burl and now the Pearl Jingle Cajon. I was shocked by the sound quality of the Pearl. For some reason I feared the Remo Djembe ringing sound but given the Pearl videos I purchased it anyways and I'm glad I did. It's a fantastic instrument and with discounts can be had very cheap. I would love for someone to compare this to a Fat Conga Cajon. I've heard good things about those but I've not heard one yet. But anyhow yes this sounds better than the Meinl Makah Burl and has twice as many sound options. That simple. Bass is even better on the Pearl. I guess the only thing to get over for the purist is the fiberglass which is why I rated the features a 4.0. Otherwise it would of been higher.

Pearl Jingle Cajon: Loud n' Proud

          By Woodford

          from Maine

          Comments about Pearl Jingle Cajon:

Features: This cajon defines features -- it's the one with the jingles screwed on the front! That's why I got it; it's a unique instrument that does more than a standard hand drum.Quality: I would have liked to see a different material than fiberglass, such as solid wood. The fiberglass makes the cajon durable, but I'm sure it also brings about a certain level of sound compromise. Despite the fiberglass body, this instrument far exceeded my expectations. It's loud! In fact, I've been asked to stop playing it by a family member trying to sleep at the far opposite end of the house! The loud bassy thump is enough to fill the room with vibration. Finally, Pearl was not lying with the whole "super-responsive snare" thing. The snare sounds great! It's extremely "sizzly," and the box enclosure brings about a powerful sort of "reverb" effect. It's got loud bass, loud snares, and two jingles. What more could you ask?
