I bought one of these ten years ago and used it for a long time in a variety of venues. In that time I never experienced any of the negatives I've read here. I find it easy to mount for kit use and remove for hand play then back. I liked the sound and it carried through the music.
As with any percussion instrument, if you break it, check your technique. No tamborine is made to be beat like you're driving railroad spikes.

This tambourine looks cool, has great features (e.g. small profile so it mounts everywhere and has a quick draw feature for hand play) but it's made out of crappy material. I owned this thing for two days and it broke on me. The little rubber guard they put on this thing doesn't protect the plastic very well when you play with sticks so you end up chipping the plastic (which souldn't happen anyway!) I was playing the tambourine with my sticks at moderate strength when I noticed two of the jingles fell out. When I looked closer I noticed the plastic around the securing nail had chipped away and the nail had come out, releasing the jingles. Bottom line, a nice looking tambourine with great features but Beware of the quality.

        Terrible Buy

Comments about Pearl Quick-Draw Mounted Tambourine:

I'm a weekend gigging drummer and wanted a new Tambour for some Kings of Leon songs we are doing. Unless you have a mic by it, forget it. Terrible sound...good mounting system though but what's the point when you can't har it?

        dont waste your money

Comments about Pearl Quick-Draw Mounted Tambourine:

This is really not a quality tambourine. The rubber guard on top fell off within just an hour or so of playing. It doesn?t play loud at all. The jingles are not a gold color as in the picture more of an ugly brownish gold brassy color. I do like the quick draw system, though. It?s handy to be able to use it by hand or with a drum set. It doesn?t come with the arm to mount it which I should have looked more closely at, but didn?t. It?s just a cheaply made product and not worth the money. Don?t waste the money like I did. If you want a really good quality tambourines (and cowbell) get the Latin percussion one. Its great quality. My friend bought it and I used it. Anyways, yeah just cause it's a pearl does not mean it?s good.

        Quick draw easy disappointment

        By Eric-yyjRC

Comments about Pearl Quick-Draw Mounted Tambourine:

This thing is a waste of money. The quality is cheap and the volume is horribly low when played with sticks. If you want a good tambourine and alot less expensive get the pulse. The pulse has shown me no problems and for the money I spent on the pulse, I wouldn't mind if it did.

        Good idea for tambourine

        By ECFNW

Comments about Pearl Quick-Draw Mounted Tambourine:

I like this tambourine. It has a nice sound and looks good attached to the drum kit. The added rim around the top edge improves durability. I like how it is easily removed from the holder. If any kids come for a visit they can easily take out the tambourine and play along with the grownups.

I needed to add a tanbourine to our church setup and went with this one. It works great! Adds a nice sound to our group. Worked well with the Gibraltar SC-AM1 mount.
