First off, This snare is absolutely beautiful!! the wood color and chrome hardware compliment each other nicely. The stock heads sound ok, but im not a fan of single ply heads so i changed em out for some evans (hd14 and hazy 300) and this thing sings!! Its got a great full sounding snappy tone, and its amazingly loud!! Definitely Worth every penny!
This snare is nothing great. Sounds alright. Not think enough to get a nice fat sound (if thats what youre looking for). It looks great... but that means nothing to a studio owner... The pork pie black brass is cheaper and MUCH better!
Simply the best looking and sounding snare drum I have ever had the pleasure to play and hear!
Someone recently asked me about my snare before a show, "What does your new snare sound like? Is is tight, deep, or warm...?" I stopped him their and told him, "All of the above." This snare fits everything I'm looking for in a snare. It's got a lot of crack and character. When I play it, it feels like smacking a little piece of heaven.
