So I got this kit today after school. I was freakin' pumped. I assembled it and everything, tuned it, and I was blown away! This is my second kit ever and previous to this I was playing on a 4 piece CB kit... not cool. This is a great value, I love the satin stain and brushed chrome hardware, looks astounding. I haven't recorded with it yet, but I'm sure it will sound freakin' intense. This is a great intermediate/low pro level kit that will blow your mind away!Since I haven't had it for to long, I can't really comment on the de-tuning issue, sorry about that.

Well, much like everyone else, my Little squealer has problems detuning. However, I've owned the kit for a little over six months now, and this hasn't created too much of a problem. Its usually just one lug on each drum that comes loose, which is a drag, but if you get lug locks or the like, problem solved. I talked to the guys at Pork Pie about this problem (much to dismay, it wasn't something "wrong" enough with the drum to get it replaced), and they said to get lug locks. Aside from this, the kit is pretty good. The floor tom sounds wonderful with a powerstroke 4 on it. Earth-shattering is how i would describe it. The Bass sounds pretty good with the stock powerstroke 3, but throw an EMAD on there and you'll be set. The snare is the best part of the kit, it really cuts but can also have a softer side, or a real fat sound. The rack tom can be a disappointment. While its fine for playing rock or hardcore music, its not so great for quieter music. It sounds fine tuned low, but tuning it high can be a disaster. Anyway, a great kit overall; looks great, sounds great, and is decent considering the price tag.

I just got this kit and I must say it is absolutely amazing! Pork Pie makes some great drums. The bass drum is my favorite part because it is a 22x20 so it isa really deep and punchy sound. I love it! The toms sound really good (would sound better with new heads). The snare drum has a really nice dark and deep sound. Great kit for the money! 2 thumbs up Pork Pie!

I bought this kit last year for a long awaited upgrade from my pearl export. It Totally blows that kit out of the water! I dig the extra two inches on the bass drum, and the toms have great low end sustain. I do agree with the other comments about the de-tuning problem though. I found the best way to eliminate this headache is to invest in an Evans Torque key. That tool is great. I use it everytime I practice and everything sounds consistently great! Overall, I think I will be content with this kit for years and I would reccomend Pork Pie drums to anyone looking for professional quality at a decent price.

I borrow this set every once in a while from my friend to play a show or something. This thing gets out of tune every five minutes. The price for this thing is outrageous, if your looking for a set for this price rangeget a mapex m birch, much better for the price. DO NOT BUY THIS SET, its not worth it.

This set totally blew away all of my expectations. When I ordered it, I thought it would have thick shells that would not resonate, and not sound anywhere near my DW collectors set that I had before. Man was I WRONG! These drums sound Incredible right out of the box. Easy to tune, Thin shells, Beautiful finish, heads are good, Boxed really well. I put an E-Mad on the kick and I am running it without a pillow. Played a Small gig last night without it mic'd. This bass drum shakes the house! No lie. I was hesitant on the 20x20 since the biggest BD I've owned was a 20x18, But I will never go back now. My shell pack came with ride tom cymbal stand mount, so save yourself some cash a wait to see if yours does. The only thing I have noticed since I have been playing this for about 4 Months now, is that it does go out of tune faster than some sets I've had, probably due to the thin resonant shells. I bought some Tama Nylon washers from this site and installed them recently, seems to have helped. (These already come on the snare from the factory) BOTTOM LINE... You can't find a better sounding Maple set at this price, do yourself a favor a buy one, you wont be disappointed!

What a great set. I bought this set a few days ago, and boy, am I glad that I did. The toms have great tone, the kick is an absolute cannon, and the snare cuts through quite nicely. I was slightly disappointed with the snare because i was expecting it to be a much deeper and fatter sound, but, in its defense, I have yet to tune it. The rack tom mount is pretty standard, but it does feel like it is well made, and although it bounces a little bit, it does not shake too much. My one complaint is the stock heads, which aren't terrible, but certainly don't do these drums justice. I threw some Remo Pinstripes on and wow, did that make a difference. A porthole in the bass head is another good idea, but even without it you can tell these drums sound (and look) awesome.

This drum kit is great. I know a guy that would take this kit over DW's I am not saying would go that far but this kit is definately worth a try. THe snare and bass drum are the best parts. This is definately a kit worth tying.

This kit sounds great, every drum sounds very deep and warm. Right out of the box I was impressed by this kit. It also looks great, I like the look of the weathered grey hardware.I love the 22/20 kick, its massive and has a sub woofer effect. I'd suggest to throw on a Remo powersonic batter, get a ported resonant head with a "holz" reinforcement ring to experience the sound of the kick at its full potential.
