Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
I have a 14"x6.5" brass Superdrum with 20 wire steel snares that I thought sounded great. When I installed the brass 24 wire snares I was impressed - very bright & colorful with no snare buzz. The strap material was a little difficult to thread (my strainer/butt plate issue) but the install was easy after that. I forgot to make sure the cotter pin sits in the "well" stamped into the end plates (don't overlook this) so the snares were off center for a bit but finally corrected it & now works great. Just hope the cotter pin holds longterm (gave me a spare)- would have rather seen a heavier steel pin - we'll see. Great product IMO

Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
Nice snares. I really like the quick release clip.
Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
I could tell it's an improvement from the snare wire that came with my snare. Not sure how good - I think I have to try to adjust it more and play around with it.
Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
I believe the most important feature of this snare wire is that it has wire brackets that help in maintaining even contact with the resonant head, thus giving a more even snare wire response. The snare drum is now more lively, with a more shimmery response. I replaced the old wires because they were twisted.
A bit pricey.
Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
Great Product, great design.
Brass Wires = Great Sound
Puresound makes great snare wires that are much more durable than any other snare wires I've ever seen.
The price is right! For the sound you get out of the snare wires it's worth what you pay.
Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
10 out of 10. I'd recommend this product to anyone.
I bought the 24 strand brass Puresound Custom Pro series series snare wires. These babies added so much life and crispiness to my Sonor SQ 2 Acrylic 6x14" snare drum. I use Evans coated reverse power dot, with a 300 snare side. Combine those heads with the Puresound, heaven awaits you! There's no going back to cheap snare wires ever again, buy these you regret it, worth the extra money for sure. Easy to install as well.
Comments about Puresound Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires:
I usually love these wires and have used them on all of my snare drums since they first began making them, however I like the Blasters better for a wooden snare drum. I put these "brass" ones on a Ludwig Maple Snare drum and they were actually too loud. The brightness overwhelmed the sound and made it sound like a metal drum.. That's not what I was I'm going for. I will try them on my Black Beauty and see if it's a better match. I'm satisfied with the Puresound Blasters or the regular steel ones, but by all means, buy these if you want an extremely bright tone.
