I have played drums for approximately 39 years. I have owned the same Roc and Soc throne for approximately the last 15 years. I have played on a regular basis in bars, clubs, festivals, parties, TV, live radio, studios, and any where my band or I have been needed. The Roc and Soc throne is and continues to be one of the best pieces of equipment I own. Thats enough about me and my throne. As I get older my back does too, and I just recieved the back rest and installed it recently. WOW.....not only does this thing help with lower back pain, but it helps support my entire back, and holds me in a proper playing position. I feel that I even play better with this thing installed. I truely do wish I would have installed one YEARS AGO!
Same quality as the throne and installed in 2 minutes.
Yes the throne and back rest are a little on the expensive side but well worth the money if you want a comfortable product that will last.

I got this for visiting musicians that are elderly and would need a little support over time. The back rest works great. The problem is the stool no longer works. I need to swival 360 degrees and the backrest only alows it to swival 30 degrees. I can not use it on my stool for this reason. Any one need one? I have one I can not use.

I was skeptical at first to spend the extra money on the backrest. I am now a firm believer as it is a great edition to my throne. Provides me with great support for extended playing times. Easy to adjust to your individual preference.

When I put EXPERIENCED, I mean that I am an experienced parent. I bought this for my son, the drummer. He needed it to protect his back when practicing and performing. Take it from a mom, get one! Or get your mom to buy you one!

I bought this back rest to compliment the ROC-N-SOC Lunar Gas Lift throne. The back rest is easy to attach to the seat, and is very sturdy. The adjustability is great and I can't find anything wrong with it. Recommended to those who have issues with their back tiring after playing a while.

I bought the Roc n Soc nitro throne to replace my broken throne that I've had for years and decided to go ahead and try out the back rest too. Best decision ever. I put it on and was surprised to learn that it's possible to be (very) comfortable while playing drums. Installation was very easy and only took five minutes or so (and it's very sturdy). I sat down and was able to lean back and totally relax while tearing it up. Probably one of the best drum-related purchases I've made in the last 6 or 7 years.

Simple to add onto the Roc n Soc stool. Nicely padded, and really helps relieve some of my lower back strain. Makes an occassional squeak when leaning back or forward, but not very loud. I think it would only be noticable in the studio.

Had to wait several weeks as this Blue version was on backorder.
I was afraid the connection to the throne would be cheezy, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The Base throne that I bought was all set up to screw it on. No adjustments needed.
Very well made and is now a very comfortable setup.
I was getting numb in the lower area while playing for 10 minutes without the rest.
Now I don't....its amazing.
Hope this helps.
High priced but what are you going to do when you want the best.
